2025 marks the eighth consecutive year that MHT has been included in the CSI100 ranking. |
With the theme "A New Chapter in the Green Era," CSI 2025 reflects the strong shift of the Vietnamese business community from a purely growth-oriented model to a balanced development between economic and social/environmental responsibility. In the context of a green economy becoming a global standard, the mining industry is taking on a new role: providing strategic raw materials for clean industries such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, aerospace, and semiconductors.
MHT's tungsten, fluorite, and bismuth products play a core role in improving equipment efficiency and driving clean technology development. Thanks to their superior physical properties, these materials are used in wind turbines, solar panels, batteries, electric vehicles, and semiconductor components, contributing to the global Net-Zero goal and the global emissions reduction effort.
Standardizing governance according to international ESG standards.
|
MHT pursues a model of partnership, sharing, and shared development with local communities. |
The CSI 2025 index assesses businesses based on four pillars: Economic, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG). For MHT, ESG is not just a criterion to "meet," but a strategic foundation for redefining the modern mining model.
In 2024, the company completed its ESG KPI targets for the 2025-2030 period, creating a foundation for measuring, controlling, and improving environmental and social impact effectiveness according to international standards. MHT aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2030 compared to the base year of 2023, achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, in line with global efforts to address climate change.
In 2025, MHT's High-Tech Tungsten Plant (MTC) achieved RMAP (Responsible Minerals Assurance Process) certification – one of the world's most prestigious standards for responsible “3TG” mineral supply chains. This achievement helps MHT's tungsten products gain recognition in global high-tech supply chains, affirming the position of a Vietnamese enterprise meeting international ESG standards. MTC also maintains international certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 50001:2018.
Technological innovation, resource circularity
|
MHT invests heavily in training, benefits, and workplace safety, while also building a friendly and professional work environment. |
MHT is aggressively implementing a green production strategy with a series of technological initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and optimizing resource utilization, including: recycling 78% of production wastewater, planting energy crops on mine land, replacing fluorescent lighting systems with energy-saving LED lights, researching the reuse of oxide tailings as construction materials, and converting coal-fired boilers to biomass. These solutions contribute to improving operational efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and promoting a green mining model according to international standards.
Sustainable community development
|
For MHT, ESG is not just a criterion to be met, but a strategic foundation for redefining the modern mining model. |
Masan High-Tech Materials not only meets international sustainability standards in technology, environment, and governance, but also focuses on fulfilling its social responsibility, aiming to build a prosperous and sustainable community. With a "people-centric" strategy, the company invests heavily in training, welfare, and workplace safety, while also creating a friendly and professional work environment. Over 40% of its employees have been with the company for more than 10 years. In 2025, Masan High-Tech Materials will continue to be honored as a "Great Place to Work" for the third consecutive year.
With regard to local communities, MHT pursues the model of "Partnership - Sharing - Joint Development," implementing many practical programs such as: clean water projects, support for education and healthcare, transportation infrastructure development, livelihood support and agricultural extension programs, production loans, bringing tangible benefits to thousands of households and making a positive contribution to community development. This is one of the factors that helps build trust and close ties between the business and the locality – an important foundation for long-term sustainable development.
For the eighth consecutive year, Masan High-Tech Materials has been named among the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam, recognizing its persistent efforts and affirming the consistent strategy the company pursues: responsible mining, technological innovation, and community engagement.
