Accordingly, vehicles are allowed to travel on the main route of the highway on 3 lanes of motor vehicles, each lane is 3.75m wide and must comply with the content of the signs installed on the route; regulations on vehicles for each lane; trucks are prohibited from operating in lane number 1 (lane close to the median strip).
Lane 1 has a maximum speed limit of 120km/h; minimum speed limit of 90km/h and prohibits the following types of vehicles from circulating: common trucks, except single-cabin pickup trucks, double-cabin pickup trucks, and VAN trucks; specialized trucks, except cash transport trucks; specialized vehicles; tractors; and trailers.
Lane 2 maximum speed allowed 120km/h; minimum speed allowed 80km/h. Lane 3 maximum speed allowed 100km/h; minimum speed allowed 60km/h.
On the Phap Van-Cau Gie Expressway, each direction has 3 lanes for motor vehicles, 3.75 m wide, and one 3 m wide emergency lane; trucks are prohibited from operating in lane 1 (the lane next to the median strip); U-turns are not allowed on the expressway; vehicles are not allowed to enter the emergency lane, this lane is only for vehicles that must stop urgently; vehicles on the expressway are guided through the lane marking system and the highway sign system.
On the Phap Van-Cau Gie Expressway, lane 1 has a maximum speed of 100km/h; the minimum speed is 80km/h. The following types of vehicles are prohibited from circulating: common trucks, except single-cabin pickup trucks, double-cabin pickup trucks, and VAN trucks; specialized trucks, except cash transport trucks; specialized vehicles; tractors; and trailers.
Lane 2 maximum speed allowed 100km/h; minimum speed allowed 70km/h. Lane 3 maximum speed allowed 100km/h; minimum speed allowed 60km/h.
“The pilot traffic organization plan for the Hanoi- Hai Phong and Phap Van-Cau Gie expressways will be implemented for one month, starting August 15,” said a leader of the Vietnam Road Administration.
The Department of Roads requested the Vietnam Infrastructure Development and Finance Investment Corporation (VIDIFI) and the Phap Van-Cau Gie BOT Joint Stock Company to paint information on the maximum permitted speed at a number of suitable and easily observable locations to remind the information of the corresponding maximum permitted speed signs on the route to facilitate traffic participants.
In case of maintenance, renovation, upgrading of some construction items, troubleshooting, ... affecting traffic on the highway, temporary installation of speed limit signs for a certain period of time is possible but must be approved by the road management agency.
The Vietnam Road Administration requires the two units managing the above expressway to review and compare the traffic organization plan in terms of scale, road width, number of lanes for vehicles, emergency lanes; road signaling system, road traffic safety works arranged on the main expressway, at intersections with the expressway; toll stations for road use; intelligent traffic system to make adjustments and additions to road signaling. In case it is necessary to adjust or add one or several contents in the traffic organization plan during operation, report to the Administration for consideration and resolution./.
