According to the patient, the patient had symptoms of cough and sore throat so he went to the pharmacy to buy medicine to take. On the same day, the patient experienced heartburn and nausea so he continued to buy medicine to take on his own.
After about 1 hour of taking the medicine, the patient felt mild hives on the skin. The patient continued to buy medicine on his own and took it for the third time, but it did not improve. The symptoms of swollen lips, tongue, hives spread and chest pain, so the patient went to Lam Thao Medical Center for examination.

At the Department of Emergency - Intensive Care & Anti-Poison, Lam Thao Medical Center, doctors determined that this was a grade 2 anaphylactic situation suspected to be caused by medication, with the risk of progressing to life-threatening respiratory failure.
Immediately, the patient was injected with Adrenaline and other drugs according to the Ministry of Health 's protocol. Thanks to timely intervention, the swelling of the lips and tongue gradually decreased, and the feeling of difficulty breathing improved rapidly. After 48 hours of active monitoring, the patient was stable and discharged from the hospital.

The above patient case is a warning about the dangers of using drugs without consulting a doctor. Therefore, if there are any unusual symptoms after taking the drug, especially signs of suspected anaphylaxis, the patient should immediately go to the nearest medical facility for timely treatment.
