As a semi-mountainous hilly area, likened to a miniature Da Lat in the heart of Hue city, in recent years, the urban appearance of Thuy Xuan ward has become increasingly spacious and clean as many large-scale projects have been and are being implemented. Along with that, movements to build cultural life, civilized urban areas or the programs "Green Sunday", "Sunday for the community" ... are launched and organized regularly, contributing to spreading beautiful images to all classes of people, creating an increasingly bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized urban area.

Thuy Xuan has transformed itself into developing trade, services and tourism . In particular, the incense craft village is one of the important highlights, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to visit, demonstrate the craft and buy products. In addition, with the advantage of being a place where many scenic spots, historical and cultural relics of value and recognized as national and provincial architectural relics are concentrated, such as: Tu Duc King's tomb, Dong Khanh, Tuong Van pagoda... so along with preserving and promoting cultural values, the ward mobilizes resources to invest in completing infrastructure for tourism.

In addition, changes in infrastructure, cultural and social life along with the development of economic sectors have helped the ward become one of the developed urban areas of Thuan Hoa district. With more than 200 service businesses, people's lives are increasingly improved; the number of well-off and rich households is increasing rapidly; the poverty rate has decreased sharply, to only 0.4% by the end of 2024.

Chairman of Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung said that in order to build a civilized and clean urban area, the ward has mobilized resources to build cultural institutions, renovate roads, create many policies to help people access preferential loans for economic development, create space for service businesses to expand their business. At the same time, actively mobilizing people to join hands in the movement of donating land to open roads, so far many smooth, beautiful and safe roads have been opened, such as: Alley 106 Minh Mang Street, Alley 4 Hoai Thanh Street, Thich Tinh Khiet Street, Alley 82 Quang Te, Alley 103 Le Ngo Cat... with a total investment of more than 7.1 billion VND, of which the people contributed more than 200 million VND and donated more than 1,000m2 of land; mobilized people from residential groups to contribute counterpart funds to build Duong Xuan Ha communal house with an amount of more than 150 million VND. At the same time, mobilize resources and organizations to plant trees, invest in lighting, and transform vacant lots into entertainment spots and cultural green spots to serve people's entertainment needs.

“In recent years, the traffic infrastructure and urban space in the ward have become more and more spacious and smooth when many projects to widen alleys and install lighting systems have been implemented. Along with that, the movements of “Green Sunday” and “Cultural Green Spots” have been launched with the participation of many cadres, party members and people, so the problem of environmental pollution in residential areas has decreased significantly, public spaces have been cleaned up, many vacant lots have been planted with flowers, trees and installed with exercise equipment, so people are very excited”, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, group 11 shared.

Continue to synchronize infrastructure

Besides the achievements, Thuy Xuan still faces many difficulties and challenges. These include environmental pollution, unspecific and unimplemented planning, affecting the relic belts; many cemeteries are located in residential areas; technical infrastructure is not yet synchronized; the lives of a part of the population are still difficult...

According to Mr. Trung, to overcome the above shortcomings, in the coming time, along with large-scale projects invested by the People's Committee of Thuan Hoa district and Hue city in the area, such as: Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street expansion project; Ring Road 3; infrastructure construction of Bau Va planning areas..., the ward will continue to mobilize resources to complete urban infrastructure. In particular, continue to implement projects to expand alleys, handle flooding and environmental pollution on roads, build soccer fields for children to practice sports... In particular, in 2025, 10 more alleys in the area will be installed with lighting systems, planting trees, investing in cultural institutions; a display area to promote local products to serve tourists will also be proposed to be built to create conditions for people to develop the economy, contributing to the increasingly sustainable development of Thuy Xuan.

With the development orientation of Hue city under the Central Government, the ward continues to focus on sustainable economic development associated with environmental protection and promoting traditional cultural values, such as: developing incense village tourism, spiritual tourism, exploiting the strengths of historical relics in combination with other relics in the area. At the same time, promoting investment attraction, creating conditions for businesses to develop, contributing to improving the quality of human resources to meet the increasingly high demands of the market; focusing on investment, upgrading infrastructure to meet the criteria of a civilized urban area, building the ward to develop more and more comprehensively, worthy of the central wards of Thuan Hoa district.
