Film Week Celebrating the 135th Birthday of President Ho Chi Minh

(PLVN) - The Department of Cinema, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) will preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An province and related units to organize the Film Week to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, from May 12 to 15, 2025 in Nghe An province.

The film week celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday is organized to express respect and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh - National liberation hero, outstanding cultural celebrity; to celebrate the 135th anniversary of his birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).

This is also an activity to continue to propagate andeducate about Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; contributing to promoting the study and following of his ideology, morality and style. Through the works, the event also contributes to educating historical traditions, fostering patriotism, revolutionary heroism, solidarity, pride and the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant.

The works screened at the Film Week include: Documentary “Paints from the Heart” produced by People’s Army Cinema; Feature film “Moon of Childhood” produced by Liberation Film Joint Stock Company; Feature film “Peach, Pho and Piano” produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I. These works not only deeply depict the life, ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh but also spread noble human values, encouraging the spirit of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style throughout society.

The film week is one of the key activities in the 2025 Lotus Village Festival organized nationwide by the People's Committee of Nghe An province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Public Security and other provinces and cities.

The Opening Ceremony of the Film Week commemorating the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh took place on the evening of May 12, 2025 at Nghe An Folk Song Theater with the feature film "Moon of Childhood".

Within the framework of the Film Week, the Department of Cinema will organize an exchange program between artists who played the role of President Ho Chi Minh in film works, artists of the film crew "Vang trang thoi tu", "Dao, pho va piano", documentary "Nhung ve tran tim" with officers and soldiers of the 414th Engineering Brigade, Military Region IV (May 13, 2025) and officers, lecturers and students at Vinh University (May 14, 2025).

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also coordinated with film units nationwide to organize a Film Series to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The film series is hosted by the Department of Cinema, in coordination with film studios and cultural centers nationwide, aiming to widely promote the tradition of patriotism, national pride, and the spirit of great solidarity in the cause of national liberation, construction and protection; at the same time, promote the spirit of studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh. Through the film works, the audience will have the opportunity to review the glorious milestones of the nation's history, thereby arousing responsibility and civic awareness in the current cause of national development.

The film list for screening this time includes 13 works of various genres, from documentaries, feature films to animations, reflecting diverse slices of Vietnamese history and culture. The films selected for screening all ensure quality content and ideological orientation, including many new works made recently.
