On the afternoon of April 24, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police announced that the unit had just issued a fine to a male driver of a pickup truck who obstructed a priority convoy.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 21, Mr. NVK (born in 1972, residing in Cau Giay) drove a pickup truck with license plate 29C-895.XX on Thanh Nien Street, in the direction of Yen Phu - Thuy Khue.

At 3:50 p.m. the same day, the priority convoy on duty passing through the above route signaled and asked the pickup truck to give way.
However, this driver "ignored" the priority vehicle's signal for a long stretch of road. Upon receiving the information, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police invited the driver to work and drew up a record to fine Mr. K. for the crime of "Not giving way to a priority vehicle that was signaling priority on duty".
For this violation, the male pickup truck driver was fined 7 million VND and had his driver's license revoked for 2 months.
According to Article 22 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law, the following vehicles have the right of way before other vehicles when crossing intersections from any direction in the following order: Fire trucks on duty; military vehicles, police vehicles on emergency duty, convoys led by police vehicles; ambulances on emergency duty; dyke protection vehicles, vehicles on duty to deal with natural disasters, epidemics or vehicles on duty in emergency situations as prescribed by law; funeral processions.
