In 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in many important tournaments, notably the World Cup (August 22 - September 7), in addition to the AVC Challenge Cup (June 8 - June 15), SEA V-League Stage 1 (August) in Vietnam, SEA V-League Stage 2 (August) in Thailand, VTV Cup (June 28 - July 5), SEA Games 33 (December 7 - December 19).

In these tournaments, the goal of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal that the Federation assigned to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team is the most "tense", because in history, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has never defeated Thailand at a regional sports event.

"The list of 20 athletes for the national team this time. I have many opportunities to try different positions. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in many important tournaments in 2025. With the nature of each tournament, the use of athletes must be done to try to complete the goal, especially the SEA Games campaign.

After many years of winning silver medals, this is the first time the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has strived for a gold medal. Personally, I and the athletes feel pressured to the point of insomnia, but we try to create motivation in each training session," said coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

Continuing the head coach's words, team captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy said: "It is true that the goal of winning a SEA Games gold medal puts pressure on the athletes, but that is a challenge that we are determined to overcome. I have great confidence in the coaching staff, and they will come up with appropriate tactics for the competition."

Regarding the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, explaining the very heavy target for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team, General Secretary Le Tri Truong emphasized: "When the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism asked us to adjust the target, the Federation worked with the team to determine the mentality. The nature of sports is to overcome pressure, to overcome yourself. If you do not set high goals, it will be very difficult to overcome them."

According to Mr. Truong, in addition to creating the best conditions for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to have training trips and participate in quality tournaments from now until the end of the year, for the first time the Federation signed a contract with Dam Phu My, exclusively sponsoring the national team. This is not only a simple financial support but also has strategic significance in building a sustainable development foundation for Vietnamese women's volleyball in the future.
