The 2025 Asian Beach Handball Championship (May 6-16) in Oman witnessed the coronation of the Vietnamese women's team when they excellently defeated the Philippines in the final match, officially winning the championship.
This victory is not only the pinnacle of the tournament but also marks a historic milestone for the team: three consecutive championships (2022, 2023, 2025), equaling Thailand's record from 2013 to 2017.
With a force of 10 athletes and 2 coaches, the Vietnamese team competed with strict discipline, flexible tactics and a strong desire to win. In the final match on the night of May 15, the Vietnamese girls showed their superior strength with a 22-16 victory in the first half.
In the second half, the Philippines rose strongly, leading at many points with scores of 14-10, 18-16 and 20-18. However, in the decisive moments, the Vietnamese girls showed remarkable courage, scoring 6 points in a row and turning the situation around, winning 25-20.
With a final score of 2-0 (22-16, 25-20), coach Huynh Minh Ngon and his team ended the tournament with a perfect record against two other opponents, India and Hong Kong (China). The Vietnamese women's handball team did not even lose a single set and recreated the "undefeated" form they had in the 2023 season.
The victory not only demonstrates the great progress of Vietnamese women's beach handball but also opens up great opportunities at the 2026 World Championship.
