Vietnam women's futsal team goes to China to seek World Cup tickets

The Vietnamese women's futsal team is on its way to China to compete in the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, thereby competing for a ticket to the World Cup.

The flight departed from Tan Son Nhat Airport (HCMC) at 11:55 a.m. on May 1, transited in Guangzhou (China) before landing in Inner Mongolia at 10:55 p.m. the same day.

Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang has finalized the official list of the Vietnamese women's futsal team participating in the tournament. The two eliminated players are Dinh Nguyen Ngoc Linh (Thai Son Nam Club, Ho Chi Minh City) and Nguyen Thi Tu Anh ( Hanoi Sports Training & Competition Center).

Head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: "The team's goal is to try to win a spot at the 2025 Futsal World Cup at the end of the year in the Philippines. But for now, we will focus on getting through the group stage to make appropriate calculations for the bigger goal."

In preparation for the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship as well as the World Cup, the Vietnamese women's futsal team had a training trip to Japan. The team won the Fugador Sumida Ladies women's futsal club 2-0 and lost to the Japanese women's futsal team 1-4.

Captain Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang shared: "The recent training trip in Japan has brought many valuable lessons. The whole team will try their best, compete with all their hearts to realize the World Cup dream, as a gift for Vietnamese futsal fans."

The Vietnamese women's futsal team will have their final friendly match with the Chinese women's futsal team on May 3 to review their squad and perfect their tactics before entering the tournament.

The 2025 Asian Women’s Futsal Championship will take place from May 7 to 18 in Inner Mongolia (China). The Vietnamese women’s futsal team is in Group B and will face Hong Kong (May 7), the Philippines (May 9) and Iran (May 11).

The top two teams from each group along with the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.

The top three teams (champion, runner-up and third place) will qualify for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup taking place later this year in the Philippines.
