According to the latest world rankings updated on March 24, the DPRK women's football team has been removed from the FIFA ranking system.

The FIFA exclusion comes as the North Korean women's team have not played an official match in more than four years. Their last match was a one-man victory over Italy in 2019.

On the latest FIFA rankings, the Vietnamese women's team has increased 1 place, from 34 to 33 in the world.

Before being eliminated from the FIFA rankings, the DPRK women's team was ranked 10th and was the strongest team in Asia. The Australian women's team has now replaced them in the FIFA rankings and become the strongest women's team in Asia.

With the North Korean women's team removed from the list, the Vietnamese women's team benefited by moving up one place, from 34th to 33rd in the world. At the Asian level, coach Mai Duc Chung's team ranked 5th out of the 5 strongest teams, namely Australia, Japan, China and South Korea.

Currently, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team have entered the 6th intensive training session at the Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ). According to the 2-week training plan in Hanoi, the Vietnamese women's team will have 3 friendly matches next week with the opponents: Phu Dong U14 men's team, the team of former famous players who competed in the 2003 SEA Games and the Hanoi Youth team.

After this training session, the Vietnamese women's team will depart for the second qualifying round of the 2024 Women's Olympic Games. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will face host Nepal on April 5 and April 8. After the second qualifying round of the 2024 Women's Olympic Games, the Vietnamese women's team will focus on defending their gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games in May 2023 in Cambodia.

After the two tournaments mentioned above, the Vietnamese women's team will train abroad to prepare for the biggest tournament in women's football, the 2023 World Cup in New Zealand from July 20.
