Vietnam women's team meets Australia U23 women's team, Thailand faces Myanmar in semi-finals

(Dan Tri) - In the final round of Group B of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Tournament, the Philippines drew 1-1 with Myanmar while U23 Australia beat Timor Leste 9-0. In the semi-finals, the Vietnamese women's team met U23 Australia while Thailand met Myanmar.

At Lach Tray Stadium ( Hai Phong ), the Myanmar women's team played with great courage against the Philippines. Despite being constantly pressured, Myanmar still played wisely and took a 1-0 lead after Win Theing Tun's successful penalty kick in the 34th minute.

The Philippine women's team played stalemately in the remaining time, as the strikers coordinated disjointedly and lacked coordination. Although Mathelus equalized 1-1 in the 71st minute, the Philippines could not score another goal to reverse the victory and had to accept a draw.

In the match at the same time at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ), the Australian women's U23 team won 9-0 against the Timor Leste women's team. At the end of Group B of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Tournament, Myanmar led with 7 points, followed by the Australian women's U23 team (6 points), the Philippines (4 points) and Timor Leste (0 points).

The Philippines women's team left the tournament in disappointment and they became the former Southeast Asian champions. In the semi-finals taking place on August 16 at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong), Myanmar will face Thailand at 4 p.m. while the Vietnam women's team will face U23 Australia at 8 p.m.
