After the first 10 days of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the national women's team had two friendly matches with Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and Werder Bremen Women's Club (Germany) - opponents who are considered to have high professional quality. This is the first step in the journey to prepare for the important training session in Japan.

Sharing about the recent period, head coach Mai Duc Chung said: “Werder Bremen women's club is a strong team, currently ranked 7th in the German National Championship. Meanwhile, we only had 10 days to prepare. Although we did not focus on the score, the players, especially the young players, learned and accumulated a lot of valuable experience from these matches."

However, the current squad is not really complete. Two players, Bich Thuy and Truc Huong, are injured, while the other 7 players are still with Ho Chi Minh City Club participating in the Asian Women's Club Championship.

It is expected that in the remaining two weeks of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before leaving for Japan for training, the Vietnamese women's team will play three more friendly matches to continue to hone their coordination skills and improve their professional skills, aiming to complete their mission in the qualifying round of the Asian Women's Football Championship taking place in June in Viet Tri.

Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team's opponents include the Dao Ha Football Training Center team (playing in Vinh Yen on May 24), the Bac Ninh Veterans team (playing at VFF on May 28), and the Son Tay Youth team (playing in Son Tay on May 31).

Veteran midfielder Tuyet Dung, one of the players who participated in the two recent friendly matches, shared that the whole team had a meeting to review experiences and analyze strengths and weaknesses after each match: "Due to the short concentration time and the lack of coordination between the lines, the results were not as expected. However, I always try to guide the young players so that they can practice and perform better."

She also expressed her hope that the upcoming training session in Japan, a country with the most developed women's football in the continent, will bring many valuable experiences to the whole team. "The young players all try their best in every training session. We will continue to try our best to not disappoint the trust of coach Mai Duc Chung and the coaching staff," Tuyet Dung affirmed.
