Authorized by General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphau Onthavan awarded the First Class Freedom Medal of the Lao State to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh.

Ambassador Khamphau Onthavan also conveyed the regards, best wishes and congratulations of General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith to former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh.

Expressing her emotion when receiving the First Class Freedom Medal - a noble award of the Lao Party and State, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh affirmed that this is not only a great honor for her personally, but also a vivid testament to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, which was directly established by the great President Ho Chi Minh , President Kaysone Phomvihane and beloved President Souphanouvong; and has been diligently preserved and cultivated by generations of leaders of the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries over the past time.

The former Vice President sent his thanks to General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith for recognizing and presenting the noble award, as well as expressing his gratitude to the Party, State and people of Laos for always standing shoulder to shoulder with the Vietnamese people in building and defending the country.
