According to the women's rankings on the FIFA homepage updated today, the Vietnamese women's team rose 1 place from 33rd to 32nd in the world . Compared to the most recent rankings in March this year, the Vietnamese women's team gained 5.23 points (1,643.66 points to 1,648.89 points) and remained in the top 5 in Asia, ranking first in Southeast Asia.

In the region, the Vietnamese team continued to hold the lead after an impressive journey at the 33rd SEA Games with the 4th consecutive gold medal. This helped coach Mai Duc Chung and his team leave the 2nd ranked team, Thailand, 11 places behind. In the Asian region, the Australian team continued to dominate the continental arena, followed by Japan, China and South Korea.

In this ranking update, the Vietnamese women's team is the team with the most points added among the top 5 teams in Asia. Apart from the Australian team, which was added 1.78 points, the remaining 3 teams in the top 5 all had points deducted. China alone was demoted 1 place from 13th to 14th in the world.

In addition, the second representative of Southeast Asia participating in the 2023 Women's World Cup, the Philippines, also made a great leap forward in the world rankings despite an unsuccessful performance at the 33rd SEA Games. The Philippine women's team rose from 49th to 46th in the world with 1,512.97 points when 16.74 points were added.

In addition, the Myanmar women's team, which won the silver medal at the 32nd SEA Games after losing 0-2 to coach Mai Duc Chung's team in the final match, dropped 3 places from 47 to 50 (minus 31.46 points). Meanwhile, the Thai women's team did not change their ranking.

Currently, the Vietnamese women's team is preparing for the 2023 Women's World Cup in July with a 3-week training trip in Germany from June 5 to 24. Tomorrow, June 10, the Vietnamese women's team will have a friendly match with the Bundesliga's top 3 team, Eintracht Frankfurt.
