The Vietnamese women's sepak takraw team won two consecutive victories today (October 3) in the women's team of 4 event. The team consisting of Tran Thi Ngoc Yen, Nguyen Thi Yen, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen, Nguyen Thi My (with 2 reserve players Tran Thi Hong Nhung, Le Thi Tu Trinh) will participate in the final of this event.
In the first match of the morning, the Vietnamese team defeated their similarly skilled opponent, Indonesia, in three games with a very narrow score difference. Coach Tran Thi Vui's team won 2-1 (21-19, 19-21, 21-19) to top the group and meet China in the semi-finals.

The final match of the women's 4-team sepak takraw between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 9:30 tomorrow, October 4, at the Jinhua Sports Center, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, China.
Sepak takraw is one of the key sports expected to bring gold medals to the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th ASIAD. The Vietnamese Sepak takraw team is currently the reigning world champion in the women's 4-team event. Coach Tran Thi Vui and her team are shouldering a great responsibility in helping the Vietnamese sports delegation complete their target at the 19th ASIAD.
As of 3:00 p.m. on October 3, the Vietnamese team has only won 1 gold medal at the 19th ASIAD. That was the victory of shooter Pham Quang Huy (men's individual 10m air pistol event).
In addition to shooting and sepak takraw, the Vietnamese sports delegation is capable of competing for gold medals in chess, karate and boxing. Currently, the boxing team finished the competition without winning a gold medal, only a bronze medal for athlete Luu Diem Quynh.
