Responding to the peak month of traffic safety for students going to school, in mid-September, Cao Phong Commune Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Department, Phu Tho Provincial Police to organize propaganda on traffic safety laws, drug prevention, school violence prevention and cyber security laws at Cao Phong Primary School and Cao Phong High School. The extracurricular activity attracted the participation of 90 teachers and 1,573 students at 02 schools.
At the propaganda session, the police force introduced and instructed teachers and students of the school on basic skills to handle common situations when participating in traffic, when there are signs of school violence; the harmful effects and dangers of using addictive substances; how to use social networks and the internet in a civilized and safe manner.
The propaganda work is carried out by combining presentations with direct exchanges and practical connections, helping teachers and students to be excited and absorb knowledge more effectively. The above extracurricular activities not only contribute to maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment in schools, but also contribute to building a civilized traffic culture and social network culture in the commune.

Many students have had a clear change in their awareness and behavior after participating in the propaganda sessions. Nguyen Quynh Trang, class 5A2, head of Cao Phong Primary School, shared: “Before, I thought that riding an electric bike did not require wearing a helmet, but after the propaganda session by the police, I understand the law better and always strictly comply with it.”
Some communes and wards have implemented the model of "Traffic Safety School Gate" or a coordination program between traffic police and schools to organize propaganda and conduct field inspections... which has shown positive results.
Raising traffic law awareness among students cannot be a task that can be done overnight. This is a process that requires perseverance and close coordination from many sides. In addition to imparting knowledge, it is important to instill civic responsibility and a spirit of respect for the law right from when they are still in school.
When students understand and comply with traffic laws, it not only contributes to reducing accidents but is also a fundamental step in building a generation of civilized citizens who are responsible to the community.

Besides schools, parents play a key role in forming the habit of obeying traffic laws for their children. However, there are still cases of parents "carelessly" carrying their children without helmets, stopping and parking illegally in front of school gates.
In addition to propaganda, many localities have directed the police force of wards and communes to coordinate with schools to organize patrols and inspections during peak hours of picking up and dropping off students. Common violations such as not wearing helmets, stopping and parking in the wrong place, and students riding motorbikes when they are underage are all reminded, recorded or notified to families.
Schools also highly appreciate the effectiveness of the police force's direct participation in propaganda work. Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Principal of Cu Chinh Lan Primary and Secondary School, Thong Nhat Ward, said: "In reality, many students are still not fully aware that traffic violations not only endanger themselves but also affect others. Through propaganda sessions by the ward police force, not only do students have a firm grasp of legal knowledge, but also create close coordination between schools and functional forces in educating legal awareness for the younger generation."
Traffic law propaganda in schools is not just a temporary task but needs to be maintained regularly, constantly innovated in content and form. When students become "little propagandists" spreading awareness of traffic law compliance to their families and communities, that is also the greatest success that the school aims for.
The model of "traffic safety school gate" has been implemented by communes and wards with positive results.
It can be seen that the traffic law propaganda activities of the police force during Traffic Safety Month have contributed to building a traffic culture in schools. When knowledge goes hand in hand with practice, and students are reminded and corrected promptly, the educational effect will be sustainable and spread more widely throughout society.
