At the conference, the officers of the Social Insurance Agency of Region VIII conveyed the basic new points of the Law on Social Insurance and the amended Law on Health Insurance, which will take effect from July 1, 2025. The prominent contents introduced include: Expanding the subjects participating in compulsory health insurance; adjusting the contribution level and method of health insurance contribution; expanding the rights to medical examination and treatment; strengthening the handling of violations in the implementation of health insurance policies; reducing the minimum time of participating in social insurance to receive pension from 20 years to 15 years; encouraging employees to continue participating in voluntary social insurance after retiring to be eligible for pension and ensuring health insurance benefits when they retire.
During the dialogue, more than 20 questions from delegates were raised, focusing on practical issues such as: Sickness, maternity, severance pay, unemployment insurance, pension calculation, procedures for resolving benefits when the labor contract has not been terminated, problems when closing social insurance books, one-time social insurance payments for foreign workers, regulations on receiving pensions before the age of retirement...
In particular, many delegates expressed their interest in new regulations on expanding the number of social insurance participants, supplementing social pension benefits, maternity benefits in voluntary social insurance; changing the reference level instead of the basic salary, conditions for enjoying benefits for workers in heavy and hazardous jobs...
The delegates' opinions and questions were answered specifically and clearly by representatives of Social Insurance Region VIII, the Department of Home Affairs and related sectors.
The conference is not only an opportunity to disseminate new contents of the revised Law on Social Insurance and Health Insurance, but also a forum for the Social Insurance agency to listen to and resolve difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process at enterprises. Thereby contributing to raising awareness and responsibility in implementing legal policies on social insurance and health insurance, while creating motivation for employees to feel secure in their work and stay with the enterprise for a long time.
