'Wireless' TVs are no longer unimaginably expensive

The remote signal transmission box solution makes TV use more flexible, is applied by many companies, and brings it down to the low price segment instead of just around a hundred million like last year.

First appearing on LG's OLED M series, the wireless TV solution has proven its applicability and has been adopted by other manufacturers. The Korean company has also brought this technology to its lower-end product lines.

Specifically, in addition to the M5 line priced at VND500 million, users can experience similar functions on the QNED Evo line priced from VND50 million. The Korean company's solution demonstrates its efficiency when TVs have to carry more and more peripheral devices. Users can easily arrange space and hide wires on the wall with the company's Zero Box Connect technology.

LG's connection box is square, measuring about 20cm on the longest side. When setting it up, users need to place it in the appropriate position, pointing the antenna towards the TV. At CES 2025, Samsung also introduced a similar solution called Wireless One Connect.

However, this technology also has some limitations. LG's wireless box needs to be placed in the front corners of the TV, less so if it is parallel or behind the product. It also takes a long time to reconnect if it is interrupted.

Meanwhile, Samsung's completely wireless TV model is not yet sold in Vietnam.

In addition, the letter Q in the TV product name originally stood for Quantum Dot, similar to how Samsung names its QLED products. However, LG's QNED line this year no longer has quantum dots.

The company replaced it with a Dynamic QNED Color solution, which has been certified by organizations to be as effective as quantum dots. However, the secret of how this solution works has not been revealed.

This year, LG's QNED series has also been upgraded to a 144Hz refresh rate to meet the needs of high-resolution gaming. The product has a new operating system and remote control, supported by AI technology. Some high-end QNED Evo series are also supported by MiniLED backlighting, increasing brightness.

Although not as prominent as OLED, LG's QNED TVs are also highly appreciated thanks to their constantly updated technology, convenient WebOS and proven durability. In Vietnam, the main competitors of this product line are still Samsung NeoQLED, Bravia 8,9 and Sony's MiniLED.

Chinese companies like TCL and Hisense also have similar solutions, with lower prices, but cannot compare in terms of brand reputation with the three giants mentioned above.
