Japanese Yen exchange rate suddenly plummets
Today's Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed at banks, specifically as follows:
At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 155.98 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 165.11 VND/JPY, down 0.65 VND for buying and 0.59 VND for selling. At Vietinbank, the buying and selling rates decreased by 0.9 VND, equivalent to 156.47 VND/JPY and 166.17 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the buying rate increased by 0.72 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.74 VND, reaching 157.48 VND/JPY and 165.75 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank , the buying and selling rates were 158.80 VND/JPY and 163.74 VND/JPY, up 0.45 VND for buying and 0.48 VND for selling, respectively.
At Eximbank, the buying rate decreased by 0.54 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.57 VND, respectively, to 158.09 VND/JPY and 164.60 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the buying rate decreased by 0.67 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.65 VND, respectively, to 153.79 VND/JPY and 164.60 VND/JPY. At Sacombank , the buying rate decreased by 0.81 VND and the selling rate decreased by 0.83 VND, respectively, to 158.05 VND/JPY and 165.43 VND/JPY.
According to the survey, Agribank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.
VCB USD price increases, world USD recovers stably
Today, November 17, 2023, the USD/VND exchange rate, USD VCB turned to increase by 15 VND in both buying and selling directions. The world USD has a stable recovery trend.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 23,971 VND/USD, down 45 VND compared to the closing price of the trading session on November 15.
Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,119 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,119 VND/USD.
The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 24,085 and a selling price of 24,455, an increase of 15 VND compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.
Gold price suddenly turns down
At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on November 17, 2023, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 69.65 million VND/tael for buying and 70.45 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Jewelry Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 69.90 - 70.40 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 69.80 - 70.50 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 69.80 - 70.70 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
Harvest season is in full swing, winter-spring rice prices increase by 200 VND/kg
Today's rice prices in the Mekong Delta have increased with many types of rice. Currently, many rice products are being purchased at 9,400 VND/kg.
Accordingly, in An Giang area, Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuated around 9,200 - 9,400 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice increased by 100 VND/kg to 9,100 - 9,200 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 increased by 200 VND/kg to 9,200 - 9,300 VND/kg. For the remaining rice varieties, prices remained stable.
In the rice market, at export warehouses today, raw rice prices remained unchanged.
Recorded in the Mekong Delta provinces, rice transactions are stable. Currently, localities are entering the final harvest stage of the 2023 Autumn-Winter rice crop, many traders in need have purchased rice at 9,400 VND/kg, an increase of nearly 1,000 VND/kg compared to the summer-autumn crop. For winter-spring rice, many traders have deposited to buy early winter-spring rice at 9,300 VND/kg.
In the rice market, demand from warehouses is stable. Factories offer regular sales but do not have much rice to sell. Prices of white raw rice of all types have not fluctuated.
In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices continue to trend sideways. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current export price of 5% broken rice is at 653 USD/ton; the price of 25% broken rice fluctuates around 638 USD/ton.
