At Vietcombank , the Vietcombank Japanese Yen exchange rate is 159.00 VND/JPY for buying and 168.00 VND/JPY for selling, up 0.67 VND for buying and up 0.41 VND for selling.

At Vietinbank , the Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.53 VND in buying and increased by 1.22 VND in selling, equivalent to 159.51 VND/JPY and 169.21 VND/JPY.

At BIDV Bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 0.85 VND in buying and increased by 0.89 VND in selling, reaching 160.29 VND/JPY and 168.77 VND/JPY, respectively.

At Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 160.68 VND/JPY and 166.29 VND/JPY - up 0.75 VND for buying and up 0.78 VND for selling.

Yen exchange rate trend forecast

The yen was little changed in trading today but remained hovering above 150 yen per dollar and remained near a three-month low.

This week, the focus is on Japan’s consumer price index (CPI) data for January, due for release on Tuesday. The data is expected to show core inflation staying within the Bank of Japan’s (BoJ) 2% annual target range, giving the central bank even less incentive to start aggressively tightening policy.

This has been a major weight on the Yen in recent months, especially as US interest rates are likely to remain higher for longer.

However, further declines in the Yen were limited by the threat of potential government intervention, as levels above 150 have attracted intervention in the past.
