Associate Professor Nguyen Quang Lieu, Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) said that this year the entire school received 1,579 applications for the 10th grade entrance exam (an increase of 496 compared to last year), with an average competition ratio of 1/11.6.
Of which, the Literature class has the highest number of students registering for the exam with 970 students, a ratio of 1:14.7 (last year it was 1:9). The History and Geography competition ratios are 9.05 and 8.3 respectively (last year it was 1/5.9 for History and 1/5.7 for Geography).
The school also recruits 34 students for high-quality classes.

Candidates applying to the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities must meet the requirements of graduating from junior high school with a good grade or higher, and have good conduct and academic performance in 4 years of junior high school.
Each candidate can register for 1 of 3 specialized classes (Literature, History, Geography). The school will accept applications from April 3 to May 5. Candidates can submit their applications directly to the school or by post .
The exam is scheduled to be held on June 4.
Candidates must take 4 written tests: Literature, Math, English and specialized subjects (Literature, History, Geography). The test is in essay form for Literature and specialized subjects; multiple choice for Math and English. The test structure has been posted on the school's website.
The exam time for Literature is 90 minutes, Math is 50 minutes, English is 45 minutes, and specialized subjects are 150 minutes. Before July 1, the school will announce the exam results, the results of the admission to specialized classes, and the information on the admission to high-quality classes on the school's website.
For the high-quality class, the school will recruit candidates who are not admitted to the specialized program, have a score of 4 or higher in each subject (including specialized subjects) and have registered for admission to the high-quality class.
The admission criteria is the total score of the three subjects Literature, Math, and English. The total score will be considered from high to low until the quota is met. The time for receiving applications for admission to high-quality classes, the time for announcing admission results, and related regulations will be announced on the school's website after announcing the admission results for specialized classes.
