How much money did billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong contribute to VinSpeed?

Up to now, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong has contributed 135.6 million VIC shares, equivalent to 3.5% of Vingroup's capital, to VinSpeed.

VinSpeed ​​High-Speed ​​Railway Investment and Development JSC has just reported the results of stock transactions of insiders.  

Accordingly, VinSpeed ​​has received the transfer of ownership of VIC shares due to Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of VinSpeed, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vingroup Corporation (VIC), contributing additional capital in the form of shares.

Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong has made additional capital contributions by transferring ownership of nearly 87.6 million VIC shares on June 27. These shares are equivalent to 2.26% of Vingroup's charter capital.  

After the above transaction, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong still holds more than 449.9 million VIC shares, the ownership ratio decreased from 13.86% to 11.6%.  

This is the second time this billionaire has contributed capital in the form of VIC shares to VinSpeed. The previous capital contribution was also made in June 2025. Specifically, on June 10, 2025, VinSpeed ​​received the transfer of ownership of more than 48 million VIC shares from Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong. From not holding VIC shares, VinSpeed ​​became the owner of 1.24% of Vingroup's capital after this transaction.  

After the second transaction, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong contributed a total of 135.6 million shares, equivalent to 3.5% of Vingroup's capital, to VinSpeed.  

On the stock exchange, VIC shares have had a strong increase in price since the beginning of March 2025. In the trading session on July 10, VIC hit the ceiling, pushing the stock past the 100,000 VND/share mark. The last time VIC was in this price range was at the end of 2021, early 2022.

Vingroup's VIC stock has increased sharply since March 2025.

With the current market price of VIC, the amount of shares that Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong contributed to VinSpeed ​​has a market value of more than 13,700 billion VND.

VinSpeed ​​High-Speed ​​Railway Investment and Development JSC was newly established in early May 2025 with a charter capital of VND6,000 billion. Of which, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong contributed 51% of the capital. Other shareholders include Vingroup Corporation (10%), Vietnam Investment Group Corporation (35%), Ms. Pham Thuy Hang (3%), Mr. Vuong's two sons, Pham Nhat Minh Hoang and Pham Nhat Quan Anh, each contributed 0.5%.  

In the initial phase, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong was both Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of VinSpeed. However, according to the update on June 17, the position of General Director has been transferred to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan (born in 1984).  

VinSpeed ​​is one of the units registered to invest in the North-South high-speed railway project. The project has a length of 1,541km and has received proposals for implementation from many units such as VinSpeed; Truong Hai Group Corporation ( Thaco ); Mekolor and Great USA Joint Venture; Thang Long National Construction Corporation and Vietnam Railway Transport Corporation.
