On August 4, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Chinese Football Association (CFA) officially signed a memorandum of understanding on football development cooperation for the 2025-2028 period at the CFA headquarters.

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and CFA President Song Kai represented the two federations to sign the agreement, marking an important step forward in promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two football foundations.

The Memorandum of Understanding between VFF and CFA is valid for 3 years, automatically renewed for another 2 years if there are no changes.

According to the memorandum of understanding, the two federations will strengthen coordination in key areas such as: exchanging coaches, referees, technical experts; coordinating the organization of friendly matches, training for men's, women's, youth and futsal teams...

VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan believes that this memorandum of understanding will not only contribute to improving the professional and operational capacity of both football teams, but also open up practical opportunities for the development of youth football, women's football and futsal - priority areas of VFF in the coming period.

For his part, CFA President Song Kai affirmed that this event is not only an important milestone in professional football cooperation between the two countries, but also contributes to deepening and expanding the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam.

In order to realize the cooperation content, CFA will organize a number of specific events and activities. It is expected that in January 2026, CFA will organize an international women's football tournament to prepare for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals and invite the Vietnamese women's team to participate.

Along with that, in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games and the final round of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, the Vietnam U22 team is expected to participate in the international U22 tournament organized by CFA next November.

The two federations also agreed to promote a referee exchange program, through which referees from each country will have the opportunity to officiate at professional tournaments in the other country to improve their management capacity and professional experience.

Immediately after the signing ceremony, VFF and CFA held a seminar on football development, with the participation of leaders of the two federations and leaders of CFA's specialized departments including: national team, women's football, youth football, referees, competition organization and technique.

Over the past time, VFF and CFA have maintained active connections through many practical activities.
