Provincial People's Committee received and worked with the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Cambodia

Within the framework of the Cambodian Cultural Week in Vietnam 2025 taking place in Bac Lieu (from June 10 to 12), on June 10, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Ngo Vu Thang received a delegation from the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Arts for a courtesy visit. Also attending were representatives of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Lundi Sannara - Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia expressed her deep gratitude to the Provincial People's Committee for the thoughtful and warm welcome and sent her best wishes to the provincial leaders. At the same time, she thanked the Party and State of Vietnam in general and Bac Lieu province in particular for their great attention and care for the lives of the Khmer people in the past time; creating all conditions for the Khmer people to practice their religious beliefs.

Ms. Lundi Sannara emphasized that Vietnam and Cambodia are two neighboring countries with historical similarities, a long-standing tradition of solidarity and friendship, and peaceful coexistence on the Mekong River. The good friendship has been built and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, and has been consolidated and developed sustainably in all fields. In the art program of the Cambodian Cultural Week, the Cambodian art troupe has carefully prepared many unique and colorful performances, especially traditional Apsara dances and the duke stage.

Mr. Ngo Vu Thang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented a souvenir to Ms. Lundi Sannara - Secretary of State of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia.

Mr. Ngo Vu Thang informed the delegation about the socio -economic achievements of Bac Lieu in recent years. At the same time, he emphasized that, in addition to focusing on socio-economic development, the province always pays attention to and well implements the Party and State's policies on religion and ethnicity for the Khmer people, especially taking care of their material life, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.

Over the past years, the province has invested hundreds of billions of VND in developing infrastructure in areas with a large Khmer population. In addition, it has provided housing, residential land, production land, and capital investment to help the Khmer improve their livelihoods. Thanks to this, the lives of the Khmer have improved, and many traditional cultural festivals have been preserved and promoted.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee and the delegation of the Ministry of Culture and Arts of Cambodia presented many souvenirs and wished for the good traditional relationship between the two countries to develop more and more firmly.
