Provincial People's Committee reviews progress of projects under the Pilot Project to build smart border gates - Lang Son Newspaper and Radio and Television

- On the morning of May 21, Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to review the progress of projects under the Pilot Project on building smart border gates. Attending the meeting were leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors of the province and leaders of the People's Committees of Cao Loc and Van Lang districts.

According to the report of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, in performing the tasks assigned by the Provincial People's Committee, the unit has actively urged and coordinated the implementation of tasks on the implementation of the pilot project to build smart border gates.

For the Inter-sectoral Office Building Project on the dedicated freight transport road in the area of ​​landmark 1088/2-1089, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the project feasibility study report; approved the contractor selection plan in Decision No. 1091/QD-UBND dated May 16, 2025 with a total of 11 bid packages. Currently, the investor has completed the selection of 2/11 bid packages; Van Lang District People's Committee has propagated and mobilized 20/24 affected households to commit to handing over the site.

At the Project to Expand the Specialized Road for Transporting Goods in the Area of ​​Landmark 1088/2-1089 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate (the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy in Decision No. 645/QD UBND dated March 14, 2025), the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) is urgently completing the work of preparing a feasibility study report. The Van Lang District People's Committee has completed the preliminary inventory and arranged funds to pay in advance to households over 509 million VND.

Regarding the Project to Expand the Specialized Freight Road in the area of ​​​​markers 1119-1120 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate (the Provincial People's Committee approved the adjustment of the investment policy in Decision No. 647/QD-UBND dated March 14, 2025), the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is urgently completing the work of preparing the project's feasibility study report. Cao Loc District People's Committee has carried out site clearance for over 80% of the project area with a total advance payment of over 4.6 billion VND.

At the meeting, leaders of departments, branches, and district People's Committees reported and clarified the results of the implementation of tasks related to the project implementation. At the same time, they pointed out the difficulties and obstacles affecting the progress of the project implementation such as: difficulties in site clearance; procedures for lowering milestone 1120 to serve the implementation of the pilot project to build smart border gates... Relevant departments, branches, and units also proposed a number of solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the coming time.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assessed that the implementation of projects under the Pilot Project on building smart border gates basically ensured the set progress, site clearance and district-level talks on construction works on the border were proactively carried out, achieving positive results.

Regarding the upcoming tasks, to ensure the implementation according to the schedule directed by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: Cao Loc District People's Committee urgently clears the site and hands over 100% of the area of ​​the project to expand the specialized road for transporting goods in the area of ​​landmarks 1119-1120 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate to the investor (to be completed in May). Van Lang District People's Committee continues to promote propaganda and mobilize the handover of the site of the project of the Inter-sectoral Office Building on the specialized road for transporting goods in the area of ​​landmarks 1088/2-1089 to the investor (to be completed in June).

He requested that Cao Loc and Van Lang districts complete the signing of the district-level meeting minutes with the Chinese side (in May); the Department of Foreign Affairs shall preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Border Guard Command and relevant units to report to the National Border Committee for consideration and completion of internal procedures related to the projects (to be completed in June).

Relevant departments and branches continue to speed up the progress of work contents, especially the examination and appraisal work, striving to start the project of the Inter-sectoral Working Building at the specialized freight transport road in the area of ​​landmark 1088/2-1089 and the Project to Expand the specialized freight transport road in the area of ​​landmark 1119-1120 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate by June 20; striving to start the project to Expand the specialized freight transport road in the area of ​​landmark 1088/2-1089 of Huu Nghi International Border Gate by July 10.
