Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh has just requested Tay Ho ward to inspect and handle the situation of shops surrounding the West Lake promenade, and report to the city before October 16.

The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch conveying the opinion of Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh assigning departments, branches, communes and wards to inspect and handle press information reflecting pressing issues and incidents in the area.

Although it is a public place, in recent days, the sidewalks of the streets around West Lake have become eating and drinking spots for some shops.

Accordingly, the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee assigned Tay Ho ward to inspect and handle the situation of shops surrounding the West Lake promenade. The incident was reported by Tin Tuc and Dan Toc Newspaper on September 25.

Specifically, the walking route around West Lake was “carved up” to make way for shops and parking lots, forcing pedestrians to walk on the road, posing a potential risk to traffic safety. In particular, routes such as Trich Sai, Ve Ho, Nhat Chieu… were encroached upon by shops, causing traffic obstruction and loss of urban beauty.

Faced with the above situation, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee requested Tay Ho ward to inspect, handle, report the results to the city before October 16 and respond to the press according to legal regulations.
