RT reported that in an interview with Bloomberg published on July 11, Ukrainian Military Intelligence Director Kirill Budanov said that a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine should be achieved before the end of 2025.
“A ceasefire must be reached as soon as possible and before the end of the year,” Budanov told Bloomberg.

Asked if that was possible, the Ukrainian military intelligence chief said: "Yes, at least three parties are needed - Ukraine, Russia and the United States. We will reach (an agreement)."
Moscow has rejected the proposal for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, insisting that Kiev and its Western allies must first agree to a number of demands, including the withdrawal of troops from regions annexed by Russia, an end to Ukraine's military mobilization, and more.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also accused Ukraine of seeking a temporary halt to the fighting to rearm and reorganize its forces. Moscow added that it would not accept the presence of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) troops in Ukraine, even if they were deployed under the guise of peacekeeping .

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this week that efforts are underway to schedule a third round of direct talks between Russia and Ukraine in Türkiye.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on July 10 that the two sides must first complete the prisoner exchange under the agreement reached in Istanbul on June 2.
