Russia is saving long-range missiles for an upcoming attack?
The British Ministry of Defense said on October 13 that Russia has not used long-range missiles to attack Ukraine since September 21, possibly because the country wants to preserve its long-range missile arsenal for attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure in the winter of 2023, according to The Kyiv Independent .
The British Ministry of Defense noted that this is not the first time Russia has paused its use of long-range missiles in Ukraine. Russia previously paused its long-range missile strikes between March and April, possibly because it used up a significant number of missiles during its air campaign last winter aimed at knocking out Ukraine’s power grid, according to the British Ministry of Defense.
As of late October 13, there was no information about Russia's reaction to the new assessment of the British Ministry of Defense.

Ukrainian President's adviser explains why the counterattack is slow
Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, recently said that Western countries supporting Ukraine were responsible for the slow progress of Kyiv's counter-offensive and complained that the transfer of weapons was taking too long.
This week, Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov admitted that the Ukrainian military had been slow in its efforts to push Russian forces out of its territory.
In an interview with Ukraine's Channel 24 on October 12, Mr. Podolyak was asked if he agreed with Mr. Budunov's assessment. Mr. Podolyak replied that the Ukrainian counteroffensive was "six to nine months behind schedule." He explained that negotiations on arms supplies, which began last fall, had proven to be a lengthy process.
Some Western countries have adopted a wait-and-see approach, seemingly unsure whether Ukraine can withstand Russian attacks, Podolyak said, adding that this doubt is “holding back both the delivery of aid and the amount of it.”
