Ford Smart Connect App, experience Ford your way

Ford Vietnam has just officially announced the renaming of the FordPass application to the Ford Application, marking a new development step in Ford's digital transformation journey to bring customers a more comprehensive, unified and modern connection experience.

The Ford app, formerly FordPass, is a smart app for every Ford vehicle owner. The rebranding is part of Ford’s global strategy to simplify how users recognize and use the app.

The update will roll out automatically to users starting in mid-October, without requiring a re-download of the app or a new account login. All data, vehicle history, personal configurations, and security settings will be retained. Ford expects to complete the synchronization of the new identity across its website and global digital platforms in the first quarter of 2026.

New Interface – Modern, Intuitive and More User-Friendly

The Ford app has been completely redesigned with a simple, efficient, and user-focused design. The interface is flatter and more modern, with a streamlined layout that makes it easy for customers to access and control features with just a few taps.

Right from the main screen, users can monitor full information about their vehicle from fuel status, engine oil, tire pressure, distance traveled, to technical warnings if any.

The redesigned Dashboard displays information clearly and coherently, helping owners be more proactive in monitoring and maintaining their vehicles. The icons are refined in sync with Ford's global design language, creating a seamless connection between the vehicle and the application.

Upgraded Experience, Smart Management

In addition to the new interface, the Ford App has been enhanced with features specifically for electric vehicles (EV), meeting the growing demand for connectivity and smart control.

The Energy section has been updated with an intuitive design, displaying the current battery charge level, remaining charge time and a target charge level that can be easily customized by the user. The app also provides detailed information to help drivers grasp the specific charging speed, power consumption and usage performance.

The upgraded Remote Climate Control feature allows users to adjust cabin temperature, turn on seat heating, cooling or activate air conditioning before getting in the car, ensuring a comfortable space and saving time.

The smart warning system automatically sends alerts when the charging process is interrupted or completed, helping car owners be more proactive in managing energy and travel schedules.

Along with that comes remote control, dark mode, and iOS widgets that let you customize your Ford app experience right from your smartwatch.

The Key to Many Outstanding Amenities

With the Ford app, vehicle control and monitoring becomes simple and seamless, creating a fully connected experience between user, technology and vehicle.

Users can start and stop the engine remotely; lock and unlock the car doors remotely to ensure safety in all situations; locate the car in a parking lot or crowded area; and check the car's status including fuel level, oil, tire pressure and technical warnings.

All of these features are provided free of charge via the vehicle's integrated eSIM modem, allowing the vehicle to maintain a stable connection without the need for additional devices or subscription packages. The fact that the Ford App retains all the features of FordPass and adds some additional features not only affirms the technological legacy, but also demonstrates Ford's long-term commitment to bringing real value and peace of mind to Vietnamese users.
