Hai Phong City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau works with Ford Vietnam leaders

Hai Phong City commits to accompany, remove difficulties, and create favorable conditions for Ford Vietnam to expand investment and develop stably and sustainably.

Comrade Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City received and worked with the Board of Directors of Ford Vietnam.

On the morning of September 12, comrade Le Tien Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hai Phong City chaired a working session with the Board of Directors of Ford Vietnam.

Also attending were comrades Dao Trong Duc, member of the Standing Committee, Chief of the City Party Committee Office; Le Trung Kien, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; Tran Van Quan, member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.

City Party Secretary Le Tien Chau hopes that Ford Vietnam will have flexible solutions in production and development of new car lines to suit the practical conditions of the Vietnamese market, while keeping up with the general trend of the world.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau congratulated Ford on its achievements over the past 30 years in Vietnam, and acknowledged the company's positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general, Hai Duong province (old) and now Hai Phong city.

The City Party Secretary emphasized that the city is committed to always accompanying businesses, not only in favorable times but also in difficult times. Hai Phong determines that only when businesses are successful can the locality develop. Therefore, the city will stand side by side to remove obstacles, protect legitimate rights and effectively support businesses to develop stably and sustainably.

The City Party Secretary also shared Ford Vietnam's concerns and recommendations, especially regarding the roadmap for replacing gasoline vehicles with electric vehicles according to Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on a number of urgent tasks to drastically prevent and resolve environmental pollution. He affirmed that this is a major policy of the Government to fundamentally solve the pollution problem in large cities, towards sustainable development.

In addition, developing green vehicles, especially electric vehicles, is an inevitable trend globally, not only in Vietnam. Therefore, he hopes that Ford Vietnam will have flexible solutions in production and development of new vehicle lines to suit the practical conditions of the Vietnamese market, while keeping up with the general trend of the world.

From a local perspective, Hai Phong will actively research and contribute ideas so that major central policies can be implemented in a reasonable and harmonious roadmap, ensuring both the interests of investors and the interests of the country and people.

Comrade Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Tien Chau presented souvenirs to leaders of Ford Vietnam.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee also emphasized that after the merger, the new Hai Phong city has the third largest economic scale in the country, and has been granted many outstanding special mechanisms and policies by the Central Government, including the Free Trade Zone - a completely new model in Vietnam. This is an opportunity for Ford Vietnam to research and develop a plan to expand its operations in Hai Phong to enjoy special incentives and continue to make practical contributions to the city's development in the new period.

Ford Vietnam General Director Ruchik Shah expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and warm welcome of Hai Phong city leaders, and highly appreciated the city for creating favorable conditions for Ford Vietnam to participate in Hai Phong's display area at the National Achievement Exhibition "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness Journey". He said that this is an important opportunity for Ford Vietnam to affirm its brand position and accompany the development of the Port City.

Mr. Ruchik Shah said that in 2024, Ford Vietnam achieved a record sales of 42,175 vehicles, an increase of 10% compared to 2023, accounting for 10% of the country's automobile market share. To date, more than 70% of Ford's production in Vietnam is domestically assembled vehicles.

Mr. Ruchik Shah affirmed that Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular continue to be a key market for Ford and committed to researching and developing more new car models to meet consumer needs and actively contribute to the development of Hai Phong city.
