Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang highly appreciated Ford's important contributions to the automobile industry and the Vietnamese economy, and affirmed that in the context of increasingly developing bilateral relations, with nearly 30 years of operation, Ford Vietnam is a living proof, contributing to promoting Vietnam-US trade and investment. Ford Vietnam has contributed to Vietnam's GDP, created thousands of jobs and promoted the domestic supply chain.

Deputy Minister Dang Hoang Giang suggested that large corporations such as Ford continue to increase and expand their investment in Vietnam, bring modern technology and management skills to Vietnam, promote the development of the automobile industry as well as contribute to socio-economic development, especially in the fields of digital transformation and green transformation, accompanying Vietnam towards industrialization and international integration.

In particular, the Deputy Minister hopes that Ford Vietnam will continue to be a bridge, supporting the development of Vietnam-US relations, contributing to the two sides' resolution of reciprocal tax issues, meeting the legitimate interests and needs of both sides; urging the US to consider recognizing Vietnam as a market economy, contributing to the substantial and extensive development of bilateral relations.

Speaking at the event, US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc e. Knapper said that Ford Vietnam is currently the only major US automaker investing in Vietnam. Ford's journey in Vietnam reflects the extraordinary transformation of the bilateral relationship between the US and Vietnam - from the early days of re-establishing relations in 1995 to today's Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, covering all aspects of cooperation between the two countries. In particular, Ford's continued investment in Vietnam further emphasizes that Vietnam continues to be an important partner not only for Ford but also for US companies in all fields.

Mr. Ruchik Shah, General Director of Ford Vietnam emphasized: “The 30-year milestone is a testament to Ford’s enduring journey in Vietnam and a springboard to step into the future with stronger innovations. Passion will always be our driving force from developing breakthrough products and services to community activities, making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.”

Since 1995, Ford has invested more than 200 million USD in Vietnam, becoming the largest and only foreign direct investor (FDI) from the United States in the automobile industry in Vietnam. This investment contributes to strengthening the economic cooperation between Vietnam and the United States in the automobile industry.

In 2022, Ford will spend an additional $82 million to expand its Hai Duong factory, tripling its capacity to 40,000 vehicles per year. The factory currently has more than 1,200 employees, 90% of whom are locals, while its system of 56 dealerships and branches creates nearly 7,000 direct and indirect jobs, making a strong contribution to the industry's development.

Looking forward to the next 30-year journey, Ford Vietnam officially introduces two new versions of the Ford Territory and the legendary Mustang Mach-E, affirming its commitment to innovation and enhancing user experience.

The new version of Ford Territory has a sophisticated upgraded design, modern connectivity and outstanding amenities, meeting the needs of urban users. The front of the car stands out with full LED headlights, grille and front bumper, spacious interior with charging ports for both rows of seats, 12.3-inch central screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Meanwhile, the Mustang Mach-E represents Ford’s vision of smart, electrified mobility in Vietnam. The vehicle is equipped with advanced technologies including a comprehensive driver assistance system, intelligent performance management, and superior connectivity features.

“With an 88 kWh battery and a range of 550 km, the Ford Mach-E is capable of handling daily commutes or weekend trips like Hanoi to Quang Binh on a single charge. The Mach-E delivers Mustang performance, combining electric vehicle performance and technology,” said Tom Somerville, Ford Motor Company’s director of electric vehicle marketing.

Both models will be officially delivered to customers in Vietnam by the end of September 2025, expanding the product range and starting Ford's electrification journey in Vietnam, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and development in the market.

Over the past three decades, Ford has made its mark with iconic models such as the Laser, EcoSport and current flagship products such as the Ranger, Everest, Transit and Territory. Three of the four flagship products currently lead their segments, including the Ranger in the pickup segment, the Transit in the commercial vehicle segment and the Everest in the top mid-size SUVs. The Territory has also quickly become the second best-selling C-class urban SUV in the market./.
