First, the company realizes the goal of digitizing the entire production and supply chain. The Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and super applications help connect all activities on the same platform, thereby increasing the speed of operations throughout the chain by 10 times, processing a large amount of data and work many times more accurately and efficiently.

As an important link in converting business plans into final products delivered to customers, Unilever's factories do not stop at automating production lines but are also quickly moving towards smart factory models and robotization.

At the same time, businesses are also moving towards a real-time operations model to be able to immediately respond to customer and market needs. This is considered an important destination of the supply chain that consumer goods companies around the world always aim for.

To achieve these goals, Unilever Vietnam proactively invests in digital talent by attracting talent, providing in-depth training, and implementing key projects. Vietnam is one of Unilever's first markets to establish a dedicated digital transformation team, internally training more than 300 data analysts, and creating a digital transformation movement across all departments.

The company not only works towards digitalization but also imbues “digital transformation thinking” in all activities, in all departments. Digitalization has become Unilever’s competitive advantage to promote superior performance and develop people to be ready for the opportunities and trends of the future.

Mr. Pham Manh Tri, Vice President of Supply Chain at Unilever Vietnam shared: “ From the perspective of a consumer goods business associated with millions of Vietnamese families, digital transformation not only helps Unilever 'refuel' most of its activities, creating motivation to improve production capacity and the position of the business, but also helps us promote effective customer access, as well as facilitate the development of human resources in line with future trends” .

In addition to digitizing factories and supply chains, Unilever Vietnam has also left many digital transformation marks on distribution channels through digital sales models, multi-channel, data-connected and data-driven marketing models along with new technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) or extended reality (XR).
