After defeating U20 Israel and U20 Korea in the semi-finals, U20 Uruguay and U20 Italy faced each other in the final of the U20 World Cup.
Entering the match, U20 Uruguay was the dominant team, controlling the game and creating many finishing situations. However, La Celeste only had 2 shots on target and could not bring home the opening goal against a solid U20 Italy defense, causing the first 45 minutes to end with a score of 0-0.

It was not until the 86th minute that Uruguay scored the only goal of the match, from a corner kick on the right wing, the ball bounced and Luciano Rodriguez headed the ball close to the goal, defeating the U20 Italy goalkeeper.
With a 1-0 win, U20 Uruguay won the U20 World Cup. This is also the first time Uruguay has won the U20 World Cup after 16 times participating in the tournament.
Young Italian player Cesare Casadei won the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards.
Meanwhile, in the third place match, there were two Asian teams, U20 Israel and U20 Korea. The match between the two teams was quite comfortable and soon had 2 goals after 24 minutes of play, divided equally between each team when Ran Binyamin opened the score in the 19th minute and Lee Seung Won equalized 1-1 on the penalty spot in the 24th minute.
In the remaining minutes, the two young teams struggled before U20 Israel once again took the lead with 2 goals in the 76th and 85th minutes by Omer Senior and Anan Khalaili respectively. In the end, U20 Israel defeated U20 Korea 3-1.
Previously, Israel U20 had problems participating in the finals when the tournament was originally held in Indonesia due to the Governor of Bali refusing their participation. This caused FIFA to withdraw Indonesia's hosting rights and give them to Argentina.
