Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated China on successfully organizing the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always remembers the valuable support and assistance of the Party, State and people of China in the past struggle for national liberation and the cause of building socialism today.

Developing relations with China is an objective requirement, a strategic choice, a natural choice, and a top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy.

The two sides discussed in depth measures to materialize the high-level common perception, especially the historic results during the visit of the two countries' senior leaders.

Vietnam-China relations have developed remarkably in recent times. In particular, cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Chinese National People's Congress has become an important pillar.

The Prime Minister hopes that Mr. Zhao Leji and the National People's Congress of China will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese National Assembly in building a legal corridor and open policies, creating favorable conditions for promoting substantive cooperation, and strengthening the urging and supervision of ministries, branches and localities of the two countries to effectively implement cooperation agreements.

The Prime Minister hopes that the National People's Congress of China will support and urge relevant agencies to continue giving top priority to railway cooperation, providing preferential loans, supporting human resource training and technology transfer to Vietnam, and striving to start construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route this year.

The Prime Minister suggested that China expand the import of Vietnamese goods; increase the capacity and output of electricity imported from China; accelerate the construction of smart border gates, soon identify a pilot model for building a cross-border economic cooperation zone; promote high-quality investment and monetary cooperation between the two countries; and make efforts to make science, technology and education cooperation a new bright spot.

Chairman Zhao Leji affirmed that China is ready to deepen practical cooperation with Vietnam and further open the market to high-quality Vietnamese goods. He suggested that the two sides strengthen strategic connectivity, especially in infrastructure and transportation, and make good and solid preparations for the construction of railways connecting the two countries.

He also agreed with Vietnam to promptly organize the first meeting of the Joint Committee for Railway Cooperation between the two countries; and encourage Chinese enterprises to expand high-quality investment in Vietnam.

In an atmosphere of sincerity, frankness and trust, the two sides agreed to continue to effectively implement high-level common perceptions, better control and resolve disagreements, share and understand each other, and jointly maintain a peaceful and stable environment to facilitate the development of each country.

Previously, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji came to lay a wreath and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, and visit Uncle Ho's stilt house in the Presidential Palace relic site.
