Attending the conference were Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha, Nguyen Chi Dung, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc; leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies; leaders of relevant associations and enterprises.
In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that recently, the Government has received many recommendations from associations and enterprises on standardization and technical regulations. Therefore, the Government Standing Committee organized this conference to listen, exchange and discuss solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles related to product standardization and conformity, thereby promoting production, business and growth.
The Prime Minister emphasized that implementing Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW of the Politburo on private economic development, recent resolutions of the Politburo, the National Assembly, and the Government, the spirit is to strongly shift from pre-control to post-control and promote decentralization, increase initiative and creativity at all levels, reduce administrative procedures, reduce input costs and compliance costs for people and businesses, and increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.
The Prime Minister acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of Vietnamese associations, industry associations and enterprises in actively promoting production and business, overcoming difficulties and challenges in the process of responding to and overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, natural disasters, climate change, supply chain disruptions due to strategic competition, conflicts in the world, and adapting to policies and approaches of other countries.
In the context of many difficulties and challenges, Vietnam's macro-economy is basically stable, inflation is controlled, growth is promoted, the GDP growth target of over 8% in 2025 is likely to be achieved while world economic growth tends to decrease; at the same time, public debt, foreign debt, budget deficit are well controlled, social security is ensured, and the spiritual and material life of the people is improved.
Affirming that these results have the participation and very important contributions of enterprises, businessmen, business associations, and industries, the Prime Minister pointed out that the situation still has limitations and inadequacies, and requirements to continue perfecting the legal system and regulations, and responding to new and complicated developments in the market.
Therefore, the Prime Minister suggested that delegates exchange openly and frankly, discuss, point out the norms and standards that need to be revised and improved, and remove difficulties and obstacles quickly and promptly, meeting development requirements, especially reforming and cutting related administrative procedures; the spirit is to both control and protect the rights of consumers, protect the health of the people, and serve the creation, all for development, for the benefit of the nation, the people, and for the benefit of the people.
