After 6 years of growing lychee, Ms. Vu Thi Nan (Ea Sar commune, Ea Kar district) realized that this fruit tree is not only suitable for the local climate and soil but also brings higher economic efficiency than many other crops. One of the great advantages is that the lychee harvest time in this area often takes place earlier than many other places, helping gardeners proactively anticipate the market and sell at good prices. Ms. Nan's family is currently cultivating 4.4 hectares of U Hong and U Egg lychees; this year's output is estimated at 25 - 30 tons.
Since the beginning of the season, Ms. Nan has sold more than 300 kg of lychee at 55,000 VND/kg. To ensure progress, her family has had to hire more workers to harvest at a price of 45,000 VND/hour. It is expected that this year her family will need more than 100 workers to harvest lychee. “The lychee crop is good, the price has increased since the beginning of the season, making my family very happy. Hopefully, the price will remain stable until the end of the season so that people can make a profit, improve their income and reinvest for the next seasons,” Ms. Nan shared.

Thanks to relatively favorable weather conditions this year, lychee trees are growing well, with a high rate of flowering and fruiting, and an average yield of about 10 tons/ha. Since the beginning of the season, the cooperative has exported 10 containers (about 120 - 130 tons of lychee) to the Chinese market. "With the purchase price maintained at 50,000 - 60,000 VND/kg, after deducting production costs, lychee growers can earn a profit of about 300 million VND per hectare," said Mr. Binh.
Similarly, farmers in lychee growing districts in some localities of Krong Pac and Krong Bong districts are also entering the early lychee harvest season. In Ea Kly commune (Krong Pac district), people have harvested about 50% of the lychee area. Among them, Mr. Nguyen Duy Duong's family (village 12A) is one of the households that brought their products to the market quite early. Since the end of April, his family has sold 1 ton of lychee, at 65,000 VND/kg.
According to Mr. Duong, growing lychee is bringing a stable income to his family. Thanks to favorable weather, along with the application of technical measures and proper care, this year's lychee has a high yield, with large and uniform fruits. Currently, Mr. Duong owns 3 sao of U Egg lychee which is in the harvest stage, with an estimated output of about 3 tons. After deducting expenses, his family earns about 150 million VND in profit.
According to traders and purchasing enterprises, Dak Lak lychees in this year's crop have beautiful appearance, large round fruit, thin skin, thick flesh and standard sweetness. In particular, lychees ripen earlier than other provinces, giving the product an advantage in dominating the market and being sold at high prices.

This year, the whole commune has 400 hectares of lychees, of which 320 hectares are harvested, with an estimated output of 5,000 tons. To increase the value of lychees and create safe products for consumers, local authorities have implemented many solutions to help lychee growers change their mindset in cultivation and production. Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Sar commune, Ha Trung Tuong, said that the commune has mobilized people to apply and expand the production model according to VietGAP standards; focusing on caring for plants according to standard procedures so that the lychees develop evenly. At the same time, the commune also recommends that people harvest lychees when the fruit reaches 75 - 85% ripeness to ensure appearance and quality...
