Changes in revolutionary base areas

After more than 50 years of liberation (December 14, 1974 - December 14, 2025), from a land of many difficulties, with weak socio -economic infrastructure, Bu Dang - the former revolutionary base, has now taken on a new look, youthful, dynamic and full of vitality. The economic structure from 90% agricultural, now the proportion of industry, trade and services has increased, leading to an average income per capita of about 80 million VND/year. Socio-economic infrastructure has been invested in construction, traffic has been connected, and asphalt has become increasingly modern. 100% of inter-village roads have been hardened, 99% of households have access to the national grid. Cultural institutions continue to be improved. Bu Dang has eliminated illiteracy, maintained universal lower secondary education, and 100% of schools have met standards in terms of facilities.

Mr. Nguyen Van Luu, former Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province (old), now Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Trung commune, who has been involved in the education sector of Bu Dang for many years, said: "When the district was re-established (November 1988), the educational sector's facilities were lacking in all aspects. The district center had Bu Dang Secondary and High School, but in reality, there were only more than 20 students in grades 10 and 11. In the first school year, the whole district had only about 10 students taking the high school graduation exam."

However, up to now, Bu Dang education sector has made great strides in changing: the quality of teachers has been improved, hundreds of teachers have been recognized as excellent teachers at all levels, and received certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Prime Minister. The quality of mass education has been increasingly improved, the rate of students admitted to Quang Trung Specialized High School is always among the top in Binh Phuoc province (old).

As one of the businesses operating in the commune, Gia Bao BP Company Limited specializes in producing, trading cashews, and consuming in the domestic market. The company is creating regular jobs for nearly 30 local workers with an average salary of over 6 million VND/month. In the face of the changes in the locality, the business is very excited, confident and hopeful for a bright future.

The good news is that in Bu Dang today, companies like Gia Bao BP are increasingly numerous, along with other businesses and cooperatives, actively contributing to socio-economic development, creating jobs and increasing income for local people.

Mr. Doan Van Be, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Council of Bu Dang district (old) excitedly shared: "Bu Dang today has "changed its skin, changed its flesh", people's lives are developing day by day, the work of hunger eradication and poverty reduction has been carried out very well by local authorities at all levels, creating positive changes in people's lives".

Mr. Bui Kim Dung, former Secretary of Bu Dang District Party Committee from 1991 to 2000, has been attached to this land for nearly 60 years when Bu Dang - Cat Tien was also known as K29. Coming out of the war, from the depths of loss and pain, more than anyone else, he clearly feels the dramatic changes of Bu Dang today. Veteran Party member with more than 60 years of Party membership, Bui Kim Dung, shared: "The positive changes today do not come naturally, but are the crystallization of the efforts and dedication of many generations who have sacrificed, built, and nurtured it."

Bu Dang is currently a commune-level administrative unit of Dong Nai province. Bu Dang commune was formed from the merger of Doan Ket commune, Duc Phong town and Minh Hung commune of Bu Dang district, Binh Phuoc province (old). Bu Dang commune currently has an area of over 156km2, a population of nearly 32,150 people, the commune center is located in Duc Phong town (old).

Keep up with the development

Coming to Bu Dang today in the early morning air, the autumn weather of the Central Highlands bordering region, you can clearly feel the clarity, freshness and vitality of this land. The change in climate can be clearly felt as soon as you cross bridge 38, from Dong Xoai to the Central Highlands. The reservoirs of Thac Mo Hydropower Plant surround part of Bu Dang, along with a bit of highland wind flowing down to cool the entire red basalt land of Bu Dang. This is also an important source of nourishment for thousands of hectares of local staple crops such as rubber, cashew, durian... which are increasingly growing and developing strongly.

Bu Dang today is also in tune with the urgency of the merger to rebuild and develop the country in the era of national growth. Bu Dang determines to restructure the multi-sector economy, including innovation, focusing on green economy, digital economy, sharing economy, and circular economy as the core to develop economic thinking.

After the district level is no longer there, changing the administrative management model not only shortens the distance between the government and the people but also contributes to improving operational efficiency, in line with the requirements of innovation in the current period.

Bu Dang, together with Dong Nai and other localities across the country, are unanimously determined to effectively implement the Politburo's strategic "Quad Resolutions". This is considered an important "breakthrough", contributing to "creating a unified whole", aiming to realize the 100-year goal of building a "strong, prosperous, eternal and sustainable" Vietnam - as General Secretary To Lam emphasized at the Conference on Dissemination and Implementation of 4 Politburo Resolutions including: Resolution No. 59-NQ/TW on international integration in the new situation; Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW on ensuring national energy security until 2030, with a vision to 2045; Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development and Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health. These strategic orientations are not only a guideline for the country's long-term development but also open up specific, practical opportunities for each locality, each industry and each person.
