In recent times, the "Five Good Students," "Three Good Students," and "Three Well-Rounded Students" movements have become goals for a large number of students. The "Five Good Students" movement sets five criteria: good academic performance; good moral character; good volunteer work; good integration; and good physical fitness. The "Three Good Students" movement includes: good moral character; good academic performance; and good physical fitness. The "Three Well-Rounded Students" movement focuses on cultivating moral character and conduct; improving knowledge and skills; and developing professional skills and attitudes.
Promoting movements for comprehensive learning and training.
These criteria not only guide academic pursuits but also help students become familiar with the requirements for comprehensive training, a crucial foundation for adapting to an increasingly open learning and working environment.
Comrade Doan Thanh Cong, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, affirmed: These movements are identified as key tasks of youth union and association organizations in schools, playing a fundamental role in shaping awareness, inspiring motivation for striving, and spreading positive values among students. From there, youth union and association branches at all levels have innovated their communication methods, combining direct communication with online spaces; promoting communication through websites and fanpages, linking with campaigns such as " Lang Son Students – Beautiful Stories," and "One Good News Story Every Day, One Beautiful Story Every Week," contributing to shaping the lifestyle, attitude, and behavior of young people.

Many schools implement the movement's promotion from the very first academic year, considering it a step in setting long-term goals for students. Along with exchange events, festivals, and forums, these institutions focus on maintaining the model after the awards ceremony, preventing the movement from stopping at the title. Some maintain "5 Good Students" clubs, implementing a model where "one 5 Good student supports one or two other students striving for the title," thereby forming a network that spreads the message and helps make self-improvement a regular and systematic process.
From 2022 to the present, the "One Good News Story Every Day, One Beautiful Story Every Week" column on the digital platforms of youth organizations and associations has published over 7,500 news articles. Schools have organized more than 60 activities to promote the "Five Good Students" movement. The "Three Good Students" and "Three Disciplined Students" movements have been implemented synchronously in 100% of high schools and continuing education and vocational training institutions. Based on this, over 57,000 students and trainees across the province have registered to strive for these titles, demonstrating that awareness of self-improvement and integration has gradually become a self-driven need for learners.
Developing skills and building a foundation for international integration.
Through training programs in schools, many essential skills for integration are naturally formed during the learning process of students. In secondary schools, the "Three Good Students" movement goes beyond simply registering for titles; it is concretized through academic clubs, self-study groups, "Peer Support" and "Partners in Progress" models, knowledge-based competitions, creative playgrounds, and forums on ideals, ethics, and lifestyles. In this environment, students become accustomed to exchanging ideas, working together, presenting opinions, and receiving feedback—skills directly related to learning in a new environment and later on, to group activities.

In continuing education and vocational training institutions, the "Students with 3 Areas of Self-Improvement" movement is implemented synchronously in 100% of institutions, linking moral and behavioral training with the improvement of professional skills and attitudes. This approach helps students to quickly develop work habits, a sense of discipline, and the ability to adapt to the demands of the labor market in the context of integration.
The process of striving to excel through the movement also helps students develop good study habits and the ability to set high standards for themselves. Nguyen Minh Phong, a student in class 12E1 at Chu Van An Specialized High School, who achieved the "Three Good Students" title at the central level, said: "Training according to the criteria of the movement helps me study more consistently, maintain better discipline, and feel more confident when participating in group activities; the title is a milestone that reminds me to continue training and preparing for the broader learning environment ahead."
Alongside this, the reading movement and the building of a lifelong learning culture have been implemented through specific activities. From 2022 to the present, the entire province has organized 720 activities in response to Vietnam's Book and Reading Culture Day, attracting over 68,000 students and donating more than 10,000 books to disadvantaged areas. Reading not only enriches knowledge but also contributes to the formation of independent learning thinking, an important factor in the process of integration.
Alongside formal education, programs supporting students in entrepreneurship and career development are implemented with a focus on real-world needs. Nearly 100 job fairs and over 210 career counseling and guidance activities have attracted more than 30,000 students, helping them access career information and understand the demands of the labor market.
In the context of increasingly evident digital transformation and integration, information technology and foreign language skills are being emphasized. The provincial-level Informatics Competition for students attracted over 300 contestants across three educational levels; many schools maintain informatics and foreign language clubs, organize English Olympiads, and hold seminars to improve communication skills. Skill development is placed within a regular practice environment, tailored to the specifics of technology and foreign languages, fields directly related to integration. Alongside this, international exchange and cooperation activities; youth and children's exchanges with localities and foreign partners; promotion of the ASEAN community; and guidance for students on using social media for learning and promoting the image of their localities are regularly organized. Through these activities, students gradually develop a proactive integration mindset, learn to broaden communication, select information, and express themselves appropriately in the digital environment.
As a result, from 2022 to the present, the province has had 296 students recognized with the "Three Good Students" title at the provincial level, 132 students achieving the title at the central level; 3 students achieving the "Three Well-Rounded Students" title at the provincial level; 72 university students achieving the "Five Good Students" title at the provincial level and 3 university students receiving the January Star Award at the central level. Dam Thu Huong, a student from Lang Son College who received the January Star Award, shared: "The title is a recognition of a consistent training process, from studying to participating in activities and setting high standards for myself; the most important thing is the confidence I gain when entering an environment with higher standards."
Overall, the series of activities ranging from academic training and developing reading habits to career counseling and enhancing digital and foreign language skills has created a clear shift in schools, contributing to preparing students for integration. Entering the 2025-2030 term, the continued enhancement of foreign language proficiency, cultural understanding, and international integration skills for young people, coupled with expanded exchanges and cooperation, will be implemented with a focus on building a strong foundation from the school level. This is because integration requires not only knowledge and skills but also attitude, resilience, and long-term adaptability.
