After the Lao Dong Newspaper reported that a group of 4,500 Indian tourists, employees of a corporation brought by an Indian billionaire, were traveling to Vietnam, many businesses said that the potential and opportunities to exploit this tourist market are huge.
It is known that this group of tourists is being welcomed and served by Vietravel Tourism Company. This is the first time a large Vietnamese travel agency has served a large scale and number of Indian tourists. Notably, this Indian billionaire will also be present and accompany his staff to destinations in Vietnam including Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh.
Informing reporters about welcoming such a large group of Indian tourists for the first time, Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Marketing Director, Vietravel Tourism Company, said that due to the large scale and number of tourists, the company has prepared a very detailed scenario about the series of activities that tourists will participate in. This helps each tourist have a complete experience during the 5 days of sightseeing, working and relaxing.
Indian visitors to Vietnam have increased rapidly in recent times.

According to the reporter, Indian tourists are one of the tourist markets with sudden growth to Vietnam in recent times. In the first 7 months of 2024, Indian tourists ranked 7th in the top 10 largest international tourist source markets of Vietnam.
Ms. Thai Phuong Hoa, General Director of Sun World (Sun Group), commented that India is currently a very potential tourist market not only for Vietnam but also for the world.
According to The Economic Times, it is estimated that by 2024, Indian tourists will spend about 42 billion USD on foreign travel.

According to statistics, the number of Indian visitors to Sun World parks has been on a good growth trend recently. While in 2019, Indian visitors only reached 50,000, by 2023 it had increased to 200,000 and is expected to increase to 400,000 this year. In addition, Sun Group resorts in Phu Quoc and Da Nang are also the top choices of many Indian customers for weddings.
For most Indian tourists, Vietnam is a new destination and has only really become a hot spot since the COVID-19 pandemic. Indian tourists do not have much information or understanding about tourism in Vietnam. The tourism industry needs to promote more strongly to the Indian tourist market at the national level as well as to localities and businesses.
