When the district had a policy of investing in expanding and pouring concrete on the road leading to the village, many households were hesitant because they were worried about the impact on their land and livelihoods. Party member Mr. Nung Van Khen took the lead in volunteering to donate hundreds of square meters of land to open the road.

Mr. Nung Van Khen, Nam Mon hamlet, Nam Mon commune, Bac Ha district shared: “As a party member, I am the leader. At the village meeting, I informed the villagers that if they need to build a road into the village and the inner fields, they should donate land. Only by donating land can they have a road, and without donating land, they will not have a road. So the villagers agreed, and many households also enthusiastically donated land.”
Pioneering in donating land to open roads, Party member Nung Van Khen also actively coordinated with the Party Cell and organizations to go to each household, especially affected households, to propagate and help people understand the meaning of opening roads. Since then, 9 households have voluntarily donated more than 1,000 m2 of land, cleared trees, crops, and dismantled structures on the land. People also contributed 30 million VND in cash and many working days to facilitate the construction of more than 4 km of village roads and 3 km of intra-field roads, opening up new development opportunities for the village.

Through the practice of building new rural areas in many localities, including Nam Mon commune, it can be seen that setting an example for cadres and party members not only creates a vibrant emulation movement, but also contributes to strengthening people's trust in the leadership, direction and administration of local Party committees and authorities; ensuring a solid foundation for the development of each rural area.
