[Video] Building new regulations on teachers' code of conduct

The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced a draft Circular regulating the code of conduct for teachers in educational institutions for public consultation. When issued, this document will replace Decision No. 16/2008/QD-BGDDT, overcoming shortcomings after 17 years of implementation and adapting to the new context.

Recently, there are still teachers violating professional ethics, having inappropriate behavior and speech, causing harm to students and reducing the reputation of teachers.

The new draft Circular emphasizes that teachers must maintain their qualities and honor, comply with the law; teach according to the right objectives, not take advantage of their positions for personal gain; prevent school violence; and build a safe and friendly educational environment.

The head of the educational institution will specify and publicize the code of conduct and organize its strict implementation. The People's Committee and the Department of Education of the localities are responsible for praising, rewarding, and strictly handling violations, in order to honor teachers and improve the quality of education.
