The event attracted the participation of many leaders of ministries, branches, localities, universities, semiconductor experts, and domestic and foreign business leaders.

In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNU-HCM, said that Vietnam has great potential to develop advanced packaging and testing industries, but to become an important link in the global semiconductor supply chain, we need to clearly understand the human resource and technology needs of the packaging and testing stages. At the same time, we need to invest in the right direction for developing training programs, teaching staff, teaching and research equipment, and cooperation between relevant parties: the state - universities - businesses.

Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized the importance of the semiconductor industry to the economic and technological development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country. The city's leaders affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is promoting the implementation of the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy and the Semiconductor Industry Human Resource Development Program to 2030, with a vision to 2050, determined to turn the city into a high-tech center of the region.

As one of the important links in the global semiconductor supply chain, the packaging and testing industry not only creates great added value but also plays a crucial role in the development of the semiconductor industry. Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, said that the semiconductor industry plays a very important role in many high-tech fields. In 2024, the world sold more than 1,000 billion chips, equivalent to 125 chips/person, higher than any other technology product and the rate continues to grow at double-digit rates every year.

In addition to in-depth discussion sessions, the conference also witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation between VNU-HCM with CT Group and Minh Tan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan, China), opening up opportunities to promote extensive cooperation in research and training in the semiconductor field between the units.
