(CPV) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed: Vietnam considers Japan one of its leading and long-term important partners; supports Japan in promoting its active role and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world .
During his official visit to Japan, on December 4, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives Nukaga Fukushiro.
President Nukaga Fukushiro welcomed President Tran Thanh Man’s first official visit to Japan in his new position; shared about the damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 (international name Typhoon Yagi ) to the Vietnamese people; affirmed that Japan will continue to cooperate and support Vietnam in preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters in the coming time.
The Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives expressed his delight that President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had consecutive meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru in the past month, demonstrating the closeness and trust between the two countries' senior leaders; affirmed that Japan considers Vietnam an important partner in implementing Japan's foreign policy in the region; and hoped that the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership would continue to develop effectively, substantially and strongly.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Mr. Nukaga Fukushiro on his re-election as Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives and conveyed the regards of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives; thanked Japan for its support in overcoming the consequences of the recent storm No. 3.

In an open and friendly atmosphere, the two sides expressed their delight at the comprehensive and substantive development of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership after a year of implementing the new framework of relations with high political trust, close exchanges at high and all levels, and cooperation between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Japanese House of Representatives.
The two sides agreed to make joint efforts to consolidate political trust, promote and deepen cooperation on all channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly, and people, promote exchanges and contacts at high and all levels; strengthen cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the House of Representatives of Japan through promoting delegation exchanges between specialized agencies, the Parliamentary Friendship Union, young parliamentarians, and female parliamentarians; continue to promote cooperation, exchanges, and experience sharing between specialized committees; promote discussions on the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the House of Representatives of Japan to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation activities between the legislative bodies of the two countries, creating favorable conditions for the two sides to carry out bilateral and multilateral cooperation activities.
The two sides agreed to promote cooperation in the field of security and defense, including the implementation of the Agreement on the transfer of defense technology and equipment, and strengthening cooperation in United Nations peacekeeping operations; Japan will support Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of war, search and rescue, etc.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man thanked and appreciated Japan's official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam over the past 30 years; proposed that Japan implement new-generation ODA cooperation for Vietnam with high incentives, simple and flexible procedures in large-scale strategic infrastructure development projects in Vietnam, and support the training of high-quality human resources.
Sharing the results of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly, which recently passed and commented on important draft laws related to investment and business activities, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly is actively perfecting a favorable legal corridor, improving the investment environment, helping foreign enterprises, including Japanese enterprises, to increase stable and long-term investment in Vietnam, ensuring fairness and equality between Vietnamese investors and foreign investors.
House of Representatives Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro affirmed that the Japanese National Assembly supports the two countries in strengthening economic cooperation, ODA, investment, and trade between the two countries; said that Japan is promoting the diversification of supply chains, many Japanese enterprises wish to expand the quantity and scale of investment in Vietnam, as well as improve the investment environment in Vietnam.

The two sides agreed to promote the expansion of comprehensive cooperation into new areas such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, innovation, digital society, green transformation, energy transformation; and cooperate in investment and human resource training. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also asked Japan to support Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global semiconductor supply chain of Japanese enterprises.
Regarding labor and local connections, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man proposed to promote cooperation in this field. Appreciating the contribution of the Vietnamese community in Japan to the socio-economic development of Japan, the Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives pledged to continue expanding the occupations and numbers of Vietnamese workers; improve the living and working environment, and equal social security for Vietnamese people in Japan.
Discussing international and regional issues, the two sides agreed to strengthen coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums and mechanisms such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the United Nations, etc., and multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF).
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man respectfully invited the Speaker of the House of Representatives to pay an official visit to Vietnam at a suitable time. Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Nukaga Fukushiro happily accepted the invitation./.
