Regarding the theme of this year's Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference: "The role of youth in promoting the implementation of sustainable development goals through digital transformation and innovation", this is a topical topic, in line with contemporary issues. Vietnam is highly appreciated by international observers, because Vietnam is one of the countries with good growth rates. From now until 2045, Vietnam will become a high-income country, a developed country. "Your country is a successful example in implementing sustainable development goals", Mr. Monder Bouden - Vice President of the Algerian National Assembly noted. The relationship between Vietnam and Algeria has many common points in history. The two countries have been promoting relations, trade exchanges, and economic cooperation more. Vietnam has an important position in Asia. “You need to aim further, to come to our continent more strongly. And Algeria is a country located at the gateway to Africa, we are looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Vietnam,” said Mr. Monder Bouden - Vice President of the Algerian National Assembly. Mr. Hassan Kirumira - Ugandan National Assembly Delegation: Supporting new initiatives of young people I am a member of the Ugandan National Assembly. When I came to Vietnam, I felt very happy from the moment I set foot at Noi Bai International Airport (Vietnam). I felt the hospitality and warm welcome of the host country Vietnam to our delegation. I felt that the organization of this Young Parliamentarians' Conference was highly valued by the host country Vietnam, and it went smoothly, just as we expected. We witnessed enthusiastic, hard-working young people who have always supported us throughout the past days. Your help to us when moving from the hotel to the National Assembly and vice versa and in the discussion sessions we talked a lot about the contribution of young people in digital transformation. As we know, digital transformation and technology in the production process, technology is an essential factor. “In my country, it is also a developing country with a population of 70% young people, they play a very important role in the development of the country”, said Mr. Hassan Kirumira - Uganda National Assembly Delegation. We often say: The future depends on the youth, so we also need to be responsible, care and support the youth, nurture them from the early days and give them the best in education, skills and so that they can help the country develop. At the same time, help them to keep up with the world. In this way, we can solve the problems related to unemployment, help them improve production, productivity and product quality to bring about a prosperous economic development by supporting startups and new projects of young people. Support new initiatives of young people to bring meaningful results to the country and their future.

“I see Vietnam as a very beautiful country. When I grew up, what I knew about Vietnam was mostly through war movies, but when I set foot here, I saw that this is a very beautiful country with golden forests, silver seas and I saw a country that is industrializing very quickly,” said Mr. Hassan Kirumira - Ugandan Parliament Delegation.

Mr. Hassan Kirumira - Uganda National Assembly delegation emphasized: “As a business, businessman, I see Vietnam as an opportunity for development, for investment. I hope in the future to be able to bring my family here to travel and explore the landscape of Vietnam. And as a politician, I hope in the future to be able to return here and share my knowledge with the Vietnamese State to be able to help and support you in the development process”.

Mr. Wouter Vermeersh, Member of Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium: Vietnam is a very hospitable country.

The theme of the conference is “The role of youth in promoting the implementation of sustainable development goals through digital transformation and innovation” which is interesting and relevant to young people. Young people are particularly interested in new technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and innovation. Therefore, it is appropriate that the conference organizers connect young people and young parliamentarians with these areas.

In Belgium, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the National Assembly held online meetings and discussions. This changed the way parliamentary activities were carried out. Now that the pandemic has subsided, we can meet and hold meetings as usual.

“I hope we can use digital technology even better to serve the activities of the National Assembly. We also need to do a lot to improve the activities of the National Assembly with the help of digital transformation and new technologies. I also see that many countries have made positive steps in this regard,” said Mr. Wouter Vermeersh, Member of Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium.

That is why young parliamentarians from around the world gather here to exchange and learn from each other's experiences in promoting sustainable development goals through digital transformation and innovation.

Mr. Wouter Vermeersh, a member of the Belgian parliament, was impressed by the conference and the thoughtfulness and warmth of the Vietnamese organizers. “You are very hospitable. Last month, I went to Vietnam on a working trip with the delegation of the President of the Belgian Senate, STEPHANIE D'HOSE, we met with the President of the National Assembly, Vuong Dinh Hue, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Our delegation of the Belgian Senate also visited Hue City and Ho Chi Minh City. The Vietnamese people welcome international guests very enthusiastically and thoughtfully, we are very happy and grateful. With these factors, organizing the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Vietnam is very suitable and favorable,” Mr. Wouter Vermeersh, a member of the Belgian parliament, noted.
