*Previously, at the discussion session The End of Development? within the framework of WEF Davos, the UNCTAD Secretary General said: The world is moving from a multi-crisis period to a prolonged crisis period with challenges such as geopolitical developments, global elections, the rise of nationalism and changing rules at the end of the 30-year super cycle.
She stressed that in the context of a rapidly changing world, the need for adaptation is more important than ever, especially a long-term vision with comprehensive policies on human resources, labor, education, health and the environment.
UNCTAD Secretary-General commented: Vietnam is a typical example. As a medium-sized country, no one thought that Vietnam would develop and diversify so quickly. Vietnam made good use of what was available and at the same time changed policies to adapt flexibly.
