Cambodia has become the world's second largest producer of raw cashew nuts, with a total output of 850 thousand tons in 2024, up 26% year-on-year. This increase is a positive signal for the development of the Cambodian cashew industry, and cashew prices are also high in 2024.

Cashew is one of Cambodia's high-value commercial crops, along with rice, rubber, cassava, palm oil, bananas, mangoes, longans and pepper.

While Cambodia has risen to become the world's second largest producer of raw cashew nuts, Vietnam's cashew industry has maintained its leading position in the world in exporting cashew kernels for many consecutive years, affirming the prestige of its brand in the international market.

Vietnamese cashew nuts are now available on shelves in more than 90 countries and territories around the world, with export value growing steadily over the years.

The global cashew industry is forecast to continue to grow in the coming years, giving Vietnam the opportunity to maintain its number one position in cashew nut exports. In 2024, Vietnam's cashew nut exports will continue to maintain their leading position with impressive growth.

According to the General Department of Customs, in 2024, Vietnam exported 723.8 thousand tons of cashew nuts, worth 4.34 billion USD, up 12.4% in volume and 19.2% in value compared to 2023. This is the first year that cashew exports have exceeded the 4 billion USD threshold.

Vietnam's average cashew export price has continuously increased sharply since May 2024 and increased to 6,673 USD/ton in December 2024. In 2024, Vietnam's average cashew export price will reach 6,001 USD/ton, up 6.1% compared to 2023.

In 2024, Vietnam's cashew nut exports will develop quite favorably in the context of increasing import demand in most major markets. Vietnamese cashew nut exporting enterprises have exploited the markets: the United States, China, the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, Canada, Spain, Russia, France, etc., with export growth to these markets all recording double-digit growth.
