This morning, on the occasion of attending the 10th Mekong-Lancang Ministerial Meeting in Yunnan, China, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son shared the results of organizational reform towards streamlining, strength, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency. Vietnam always attaches importance to cooperation with neighboring countries, prioritizing promoting a trusting and close relationship with Cambodia.

Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn believes that Vietnam will firmly enter a new era with many successes. Cambodia always attaches importance to the friendly neighborly relationship and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, in which economic cooperation is a bright spot with strong growth in trade turnover, reaching about 7 billion USD in the first 6 months of this year.
The two sides agreed to closely coordinate to organize important foreign affairs activities from now until the end of the year, first of all welcoming a high-ranking Cambodian delegation led by President of the Cambodian People's Party and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen to Hanoi to attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
The two sides continue to coordinate and promote ministries, branches and localities of the two countries to effectively promote cooperation mechanisms; promote economic connectivity, including connectivity of transport infrastructure and border gate systems.
The Deputy Prime Minister asked the Cambodian side to continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for people of Vietnamese origin to live and do business legally and stably; grant Cambodian citizenship to those who meet the conditions; and create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest effectively in the Cambodian market.
Highly appreciating the results of the phone call between General Secretary To Lam and President Hun Sen on the afternoon of August 14, the two Deputy Prime Ministers affirmed that they will cooperate closely and promote the effective implementation of the opinions agreed upon by the heads of the two Parties.
Regarding the situation with Thailand, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister shared some recent developments such as the ceasefire agreement on July 28 and the Joint Border Committee meeting on August 7.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed the positive results achieved between Thailand and Cambodia. He said Vietnam hopes that both sides will exercise restraint, not use force, rebuild trust soon, promote dialogue to find long-term peaceful solutions, on the basis of fundamental principles of international law, and promote ASEAN's central role for peace, stability, cooperation and prosperous development.
Previously, on August 14, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa.
The two leaders agreed to coordinate to effectively and substantially implement important cooperation contents between the two countries, including promoting high-level visits, promptly organizing the 6th meeting of the Vietnam-Thailand Joint Committee on Bilateral Cooperation, and building an Action Program to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2026-2030 period.

The two sides agreed to strengthen economic, trade and investment cooperation; emphasized the importance of promoting the effective implementation of the “Three Connectivity” Strategy; and urged the early establishment of a Joint Working Group to discuss specific plans to implement this strategy.
In order to concretize economic cooperation commitments, the Thai Foreign Minister affirmed to promote large Thai enterprises, especially in science and technology, to increase cooperation with Vietnam.
The two Ministers agreed to encourage the promotion of cooperation in renewable energy and equitable energy transition. These are areas with great potential and room for growth, bringing benefits to the people of both countries in the new period...
In response to the Thai Foreign Minister's sharing on the recent situation with Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed the results achieved between Thailand and Cambodia at the recent Joint Border Committee meeting in Malaysia (August 7).
Vietnam hopes that both sides will exercise restraint, not use force, peacefully and satisfactorily resolve disagreements, soon rebuild trust, promote dialogue, on the basis of fundamental principles of international law, and promote ASEAN's central role.
