VietinBank supports the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Lai Chau province

On April 24, 2025, in Nam Xe commune (Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province), the Ministry of Public Security and Lai Chau province held a ceremony to present funding to support the implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Lai Chau province. VietinBank and a number of units have accompanied the Program.

According to Lai Chau province's report, the province currently has 7,064 temporary and dilapidated houses; of which 5,831 houses need to be rebuilt and 1,233 houses need to be repaired. Up to now, Lai Chau province has built and repaired 4,782 houses, reaching 67.7% of the plan, with a total mobilized budget of more than VND 277 billion. Of this, the Ministry of Public Security , together with VietinBank and a number of other banks, mobilized and joined hands to support the construction of 1,100 houses with a total budget of VND 66 billion.

The active participation of VietinBank together with the Ministry of Public Security and Lai Chau province is one of the meaningful social security activities, contributing practically to improving living conditions for people in remote areas, helping people to firmly overcome difficulties, gradually rising out of poverty sustainably.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Giang Pao My - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Lai Chau province expressed her deep gratitude for the timely attention and support of VietinBank. Ms. Giang Pao My committed to directing the units to closely coordinate and effectively deploy support resources, ensuring the right subjects and progress.

Over the past time, VietinBank has continuously affirmed its role and social responsibility through meaningful social security programs across the country, especially in Lai Chau province. Up to now, VietinBank has spent over 97 billion VND to support social security work in Lai Chau province, including: Building 305 houses for poor households, 5 community cultural houses, 1 medical high school, 1 medical clinic; donating 6 ambulances to medical facilities, giving health insurance books, Tet gifts to poor households, policy families...
