With its very active activities in implementing ESG and providing green credit products, VietinBank has excelled over many other candidates, becoming the typical bank for green credit in 2024.

The award once again affirms VietinBank's efforts in keeping up with the trend of transitioning to a low-carbon economy , thereby supporting customers in the best way through the VietinBank ESG ecosystem with diverse products, services and partners.

Some of VietinBank's typical sustainable development activities include: Building and issuing the bank's Sustainable Finance Framework, which was assessed by an independent second party - Morningstar Sustainalytics as "reliable and having a great impact" on sustainable development; Launching the Green Up green finance package worth VND 5,000 billion to promote sustainable business development; Cooperating with MUFG with the goal of mobilizing up to USD 1 billion for sustainable development in Vietnam; building and establishing an environmental and social risk management system in green credit granting activities...

Recently, VietinBank has introduced to the market the Green Deposit product, aiming to diversify the mechanism of mobilizing capital for green projects and social projects.

In addition, to actively communicate the bank's activities, orientations, products, services, and sustainable development solutions to the public, VietinBank has launched a special section "Sustainable Development" on the bank's website, in order to promptly spread the latest efforts in the journey of sustainable development.

It is known that the Outstanding Bank for Green Credit is one of the 7 important categories of the Outstanding Vietnamese Bank Award for banks, including state-owned commercial banks, joint-stock commercial banks, joint-venture banks, and Fintech/finance companies. The award evaluates and selects outstanding units based on strict criteria on policies, initiatives, products, preferential conditions for green credit, as well as the implementation of the bank's environmental and social risk management system.
