According to the announcement of Tan Son Nhat International Airport on the morning of May 14, Vietnam Airlines officially moved to terminal T3 from May 17.
The port considers this conversion to optimize operations and enhance the passenger experience at the new terminal.
Previously, the airline had tested flights between Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don at T3 since the end of April. This conversion applies to all remaining domestic routes of Vietnam Airlines.
Meanwhile, domestic flights of VietJet , Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Vietravel Airlines, Bamboo Airways and flights using ATR72 aircraft of Vietnam Airlines (with flight number VN) operating routes to Con Dao, Ca Mau, Rach Gia... continue to operate at terminal T1.
Previously, from April 17, Vietnam Airlines began operating flights between Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don and from April 19, flights between Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi at Terminal T3. According to the original plan, the airline planned to move all domestic flights to the new terminal from April 28, but it was postponed to adjust to actual operations.
The move of all domestic flights to Terminal T3 aims to optimize operations and enhance the passenger experience at the new terminal. However, in the initial stages of operation, many passengers encountered difficulties due to confusion between Terminals T1 and T3, leading to missed flights.
Tan Son Nhat currently has three terminals. Terminals T1 and T3 serve domestic flights, and T2 operates international flights.
Tan Son Nhat's total operating capacity reaches 50 million passengers/year.
